There's another post about 5 down from this one (6 years out and 40 lb regain) . You may want to read through it and chime in. You're not alone. There are lots of us battling the same regain monster. Nothing like a New Year to get refocused and find that motivation and courage to make some changes.

Good Luck!!

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.

I follow the Primal BluePrint (very similar but allows some dairy) and it has enabled me to keep my 100 lb weight loss from RNY off for 10-years.

I highly recommend the Primal BluePrint 21-Day Total Body Transformation to WLSers wanting to transition to this plan of eating. It is a 21-day plan that guides you through shopping and stocking your pantry, exercises, daily affirmation and challenges, and of course eating. I wrote all about my 21-day total body transformation on HealthCentral. You can read the series of articles beginning here: http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/149743/transformation

The Paleo and Primal diets coordinate with the recommended eating plan for WLSers as stated in the Pouch Rules for Dummies. You can read more about that in my article here: http://www.healthcentral.com/obesity/c/276918/139125/bariatric-tools

I hope that these articles are of help. I cannot emphasize enough the vital importance of eating this way in your ability to lose weight and keep it off for the rest of your life. Cheers to lifetime obesity management!

Living life well-fed,

Brandy00,

I understand the frustration, dismay and sometimes the self-loathing that goes along with the weight gain. My weight loss was about 100 lbs, and within that loss I gain and lose. I started at 220 (5'2") and got down to 121. From there I recently got up to 144 and had to revamp the wardrobe (eBay) to fit my new size. Now I'm back down after about 6 months to 128.

The most difficult of all for me to pass by is sugary things, cookies, cakes, desserts and just plain sweets. The second is fried foods. I find (RNY) that to be comfortable I have to have something in my stomach about every two hours. I changed from cookies to protein for the 2 hour snacks and have done lots better. Another thing I find helpful is positive affirmations. "I enjoy eating healthy food and get full fast." "I am slim and graceful and enjoy healthy food." If I say things like this to myself each day I begin to believe it and not eating sweets and fats is easier.

I hope you will find the solution to getting back on track and become your old thin self. Sending kind thoughts, energy and hugs.

Hi DeVonne, can you tell us what you did to go from 144 to 128?
