Gassy?

I'm almost three years out from my surgery and the weight loss has remained; but more and more, I have gas no matter what I eat. Any suggestions? Has anyone else delt with this issue?

you just have to deal with it.  I never passed gas, but after RNY all the time and when i least expect it.  I think it is due to the protein we have to take?  I'm not sure.  I  wish I had a magic suggestion.  I  have passed gas and been embarrassed, I've just had to say"excuse me".  My family deals with it  : Oh mom!!!"  " not again!!"...    Better to let the gas out than keep it in....go to a unpopulated corner and let it rip...then walk away! ha!  What else can you do?  I'm 8 yrs out and still passing....

Goodness, well at least I'm not alone. I did contact my surgery's office and she gave me instructions regarding probiotics - to cleanse the colon and replace it with good bacteria. It's rather extreme so I was hoping not to have to do it, but it looks like it is something I'll have to do.

Thanks replying! Janet_B

Ahh, gluten, I was wondering about that... so products without gluten - is it hard to find products like this? Do you have to go to a health food store? I do have some gluten-free bread I just bought and will try - but what other products do I need to be aware of? Oatmeal for example, cereal?

thanks so much for replying!! Janet
