losing to much weight
My DR told me when I started this venture that I would only go down to about 170#.. that it would be a good weight for me as I am bigger boned. Well I am now out 2 yrs next week and I'm now at 123#. My hubby is saying that I have lost to much and so have friends and coworkers. I started out in size 28 clothes and now wear a size 2. I am still losing but not as much.. about 3 # a month. I only exercise to keep muscle mass now not to lose weight. I do eat , drink my water and take my vitamins like I should. Any sugestions would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks,
Lynda
I had this problem for a while right after goal. The obvious answer is to consume more calories. That said, you run the risk of excessive eating becoming a habit should you find yourself gaining.
My solution was to consume a Starbucks Frappucino every day. This had the benefit of giving me 500 calories extra. When the time came, all I did was stop the Frappucinos and the other eating could stay the same.
I had the same issues. I started consuming more calories through good carbs, nuts, additional protein, etc. I had gotten down to 119 but have leveled out at around 125. If you can drink a protein shake it would also allow you to get additional calories and protein at the same time.
Also you might want to schedule an appt with the NUT who can share some ideas with you.
I'm two years out, too, and I lost too much weight as well. I got scary low, under 100 lbs. I have managed to put on a little weight but I still weigh about 105. At least I look better, at least that is what people are telling me. I have been at this weight for over a year. I eat every 2 or 3 hours, lots of high fat foods like cheese and sour cream and nuts. I do still have a problem eating very much. I can eat a few bites and then I feel full to the point of sickness. That isn't with all food, thankfully. I can eat about a cup of chili but only a few bites of an omelet or meat. I do have things like yogurt and protein drinks that I am able to consume a lot more of.
I stopped exercising completely a few months ago due to some physical pain. The only restrictions with food I have is nothing with sugar or gluten, other then that I eat a varied and tasty diet. I've given up trying to control it. I figure this is where my body wants to be right now and that eventually I'll be able to eat more and put on some more weight. Other then the pain I talked about I am very healthy and I feel good. I don't think I look terrific but I don't look sick anymore. I have never weighed this little in my life that I can remember. I started gaining weight when I was about 12 or 13 and I literally went from about 80 lbs to 130 lbs over the summer before I started Jr. High school. My lowest adult weight was about 115. I can't figure it out at all.

Yes, it is happening to me now. I am 19 months from my RNY. I am at 124 and continue to lose 1-3 pounds a month. I CANNOT lose anymore. I was told to add nuts, peanut butter, dried fruit, 100% fruit juice, and ice cream if I could tolerate it. This really has not made a difference. Now the frappuccino does sound interesting as I am hooked on a latte each morning.
