Hi,

I had rny in Sept of 04.  Highest weight was 360.  I was 286 at time of surger.  I lost down to 159 at my lowest by the summer of 05.  I regained 10 lbs and had a tt in Sept of 06.  I gained 20lbs in 08 when going through a divorce and maintained around 185-190 until late 2010.  I then got preganant and gained 85lbs which brought me up to 275 by the summer of 2011.  I made excuses for the last year, and have just rededicated myself to not going back to this life of being overweight.  So, here I am on my first day here, weighing in at 260.  I was comfy at 170 and looked good.  I am one of those people that can carry more weight, but doesn't look it....so 170 for me was a size 7/8 which I was happy with and would love to go back to.  I'm on day 2 of the 5 day pouch test.  I haven't found it to be that difficult and was thinking of expanding it a little and doing another day of liquids.  Anyway, this is a novel now.  Just saying hi and that I'm hoping to lose some weight with you all :)

I had mine in Sept 2004 also.  I was 250 at surgery but only got down to 170.  Slowly, it's crep back up to 200.  I take full responsibility.  I stopped following the rules.  I've had 2 friends that just recently had RNY and they look great.  I so envy them  and ashamed of not being able to keep the weight off.
Really interested to see if this pouch test thing works.  If so I will try it.  Goodluck and keep us posted.

 Hi Marie,
Just wanted to let you know, you're not alone. I am also 8 years out and have had some regain. Having a pregnancy is so tough on our bodies. (Mine wasn't a baby, but beer.....) We can do this!!!
Just wanted to give some support, to a fellow "old-timer".
Hang in there, Lyn

Hi  Lyn,
I am new to this site.  I was just searching for some support.  I am 11 years post.  I can honestly say for the first 9 years my weight stayed the same.  I had lost a total of 124 pounds.  Then it just seems the last few years the weight has started to come on.  It was as though I could see it building....what I am responding to is your "beer" statement. I never drank much before surgery and for years after, then all of a sudden it just kinda started.  Now I worry.  I cant get this 50 pounds off and I find I look forward to that one, two or even three beers at night.  I'm worried.  Just looking for someone that knows what I am going through. Thank you so much for any ideas and support.

I feel your pain. I had surgery 5 years ago (vsg), my highest pre op was 215, lowest post op, 134.
Might not seem like a lot, but I'm under 5ft tall. Any who, had a baby a year
ago, went back to my low weight automatically.
Then I developed ppd and have gained almost 40lbs because of Zoloft, and bad food choices. So here I am, 167 lbs this morning. Not sure how I'm going to do it, but I need to lose this weight. I hope you too can bounce back, good luck.

Hey AEveryone Had my gastric bypass 6 yrs ago highest weight was 320 got down to 230. Went to the Dr yesterday weighed in at 270 lbs i have gained 40 pounds. I have slowly but surely changed the wardrobe to bigger sizes all the time making excuses that the dryer shrunk my clothes but deep in my heart i knew i was letting myself go .  I have battled depression and tend to isolate and eat.  I have addressed my depression and now to address the weight gain . My labs all came back perfect (much to my surprise). Doc gave me a scrip for phentermine to kick start my weight loss. I have to do this now before its too late. Thanks for listening
