Accountability - HUMP DAY

Not the Same Dawn

I was up at 4 am making chili for my office staff today. I'm practicing for the chili cook off next month..It's nearly unanimous, buffalo chili is a winner!
My eats:
5:30 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:00 am 1/4 protein waffles, 1 pear, SF pancake syrup
7:00 am double espresso latte
8:00 am 1 oz cheddar cheese and 1 pc deli meat/ham
I had a cup of buffalo chili and a small corn muffin and a half cup of vegetarian chili too. Both were good but the buffalo chili was the best. and HOT!
then I had a cup of cole slaw and a chicken breast, fried
I drank enough water, I figure but one more couldn't hurt.
Spaghetti sauce over whole wheat pasta tonight for dinner..
Ya know? I can't even start to put totals on this train wreck! I won't even try! LOL..Tomorrow is another day!

I did fair for the day considering the buffalo chili was really low calorie and high protein but beans and veggie chili and then pasta??? meh. do overs tomorrow.

How did you do?

You are truly a renaissance woman.  Buffalo chili at 4am.  Wow...When do you rest?  Well the drama with my husband continues.  I want to go away until he gets over it.  It is so stressful that food seems like a solution, but I have worked hard to get back from that place so no go with that behavior.  I'll just have to wait it out.  I wish I could accept it better.

Here is my food:

32oz water and am vitamins
B: 1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese, 14 almond, 5 prunes, 2 tbsp golden ground flaxseed
Iced venti sugar free vanilla 2% latte
L: 5-7oz tuna salad with low fat mayo, 21 soy crisps, no sugar added bread and butter pickle chips, nectarine
32oz water and pm vitamins
Iced grande sugar free vanilla 2% latte
D:  Starbucks egg/cheese/ham breakfast sandwich
S:  3 sugar free almond/banana/oatmeal cookies

Cals: 1610, fat: 65.5, carbs: 142, protein: 109

Wednesday is always my higher carb day.  That starbucks sandwich is not the greatest and those cookies either.  Out of the two I am okay with the cookies because the carbs in those are pretty healthy - bananas, oats, applesacue.  Anyway.  That was my food.  Type at you later :)

My husband is getting crankier and crankier as he gets older..And things seem to bother him much worse when something ELSE is bothering him..You might find out what the other thing is that he's holding in. Either that or let him have his pitty party/angst fest on his own..WALK AWAY..find something to do. When hubby dearest (generally called DH for Dear Hubby or DICK HEAD for different reasons) gets cranky, I go find that the toilets need cleaning, far far away..or my legs need shaving (door shut, radio on loud), or the dog needs a walk or car needs washing or just about anything..I've even been known to go pull weeds as the sun is barely coming up! LOL.

You did really well..those carbs call our names when we're stressed or bothered. They just doo. Keep the carb fest to a minimum or at least the good ones and make them worth it.

Keep up the good work. See ya.

Thanks Dawn.  I am going to try this.  I need to stay out of the way and keep my mouth shut.  I really appreciate you.

The buffalo chili sounds delicious!  I absolutely love chili, but have only ever made the beef kind!

Well....big news for me!  I joined a CROSSFIT gym today!  Paid for a three month membership, and had my first crossfit class.  It absolutely whooped my @ss!  When I got home, I was STARVING, and I didn't drink enough water today, either.  Adding my exercise because I am so darned proud of myself!

Exercise:
1 hour crossfit
2 km walk with the dog

Breakfast:
Large coffee from Tim Hortons - met with my lawyer to do our wills this morning, another first!
2cream, 2 sweetner

Lunch:
ANOTHER Arby's roast beef sandwich and curly fries.  Didn't finish either, though.

Dinner:
Lettuce salad with: cucumbers, tomatoes, feta, cucumber dressing and a tiny piece of the leftover curry chicken tossed in
Still a bit hungry so I had some leftover quinoa, about 1/2 cup

Snacks:
Zero Vitamin water
raw blueberries
pistachios

Congrats on that CROSSFIT class. very cool. You'll need to up the carbs (good ones for sure) just to keep your muscles fueled..and definitely bring water with you..more water is never a bad thing (unless you're drinking a gallon in an hour..that's NOT good)..

blueberries and pistachios..VERY nummy..and VERY good for you. You did awesome..

Thanks!  What do you consider "good" carbs?  I've been trying to stay away from carbs completely, like bread, pasta, rice.  I love rice but it always makes me throw up now.

I have been tracking my food in my fitness pal the past two days, which is fun and awesome to see it all broken down like that.  I do notice that there are some kind of carbs in my diet, despite trying to avoid them.

I am heading to the gym, and while I don't normally have breakfast, this morning I mixed a can of tuna with a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.  I had half the can and a baby cucumber.

So some thoughts on what carbs I should eat would be very appreciated!

Not all carbs are created equal..veggies and fruits have plenty of carbs but those are ones with plenty of fiber in them..bread has a ton of carbs but they're white/non-fibrous carbs so I call those bad ones. pasta, rice..both are white carbs, not good. Good carbs are apples, nectarines, pears, oranges, grapes, raisins yummy veggies and such..which are still called carby foods but their harder for the system to digest so they keep your sugar from dropping out.
