Accountability - Saturday
We spent the better part of the day waiting at the hospital with the family of a young man (42) having a brain cyst/tumor removed..6 hours in a hospital..I think I got enough water, I hope so. In any case, I did keep track of my food:
coffee
breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled and microwaved, 1 oz cheddar cheese, 1 flour tortilla and some salsa
double espresso latte
24 oz container of water
24 oz container of water
lunch: salad from the salad buffet at the hospital: 1 slice swiss, 1 slice mozzarella, 1 slice roast beef, 2 slices turkey breast, 1 slice ham, 1 cup salad greens, 1/2 tablespoon sunflower seeds and 1 tablespoon ranch dressing..
24 oz container of water
snack: 1 raw plum
dinner: 1/3 lb extra lean burger patty (bought from Costco today) 1 slice processed cheese, 1 tablespoon mayo, salad greens, slice of tomato
I need more water but my totals for the day are:
Calories: 1596
Fat: 94.6
Carbs:77.9
Protein: 114.0
Not bad. It was a long and stressful day for all of us. The good news is that the young man will probably be okay. His tumor has been removed and they do believe he will recover after time of recovering. We're suppose to go to the hospital tomorrow..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Hey!
I am a bit late for Saturday, but here it is. I managed to be active and go to the movies to stay cool today. Carbs and fat were up today-I really wanted popcorn at the movies (brought my own-not theirs), had cereal for breakfast snack and was craving peanut butter and chocolate (Godiva Pearls-25 calories for 8 and I had 16!). I excercised no self control yesterday, but at least I stayed moving.

I'd say you did..before surgery, I'd have had more like 80 of those pearls...but to stop at 16..awesome. Yeah, carbs were a little higher than your protein but I think you did good! Plus, tomorrow is completely do over day..You get to start over and get a better ending.

I know I would have gone off the deep end with overeating in the past. I am trying to be very vigilant now, as we all are, because I don't ever want to go back to being 364 pounds. My challenge in maintanence is to figure out how to eat like a "normal weight" person. Eating healthy almost all the time and indulging without losing control or going ballistic because I ate a treat or gave in to a craving once in awhile. Type at you tomorrow about today. It is too hot in my computer room to go through today's stats now. Have a good one! Thanks
