My second surgiversary
I was thrilled to get an OH reminder that this is my 2 year surgiversary. I had my latest follow-up w/my surgery last week in Topeka. I have the highest praise for my team at Tall Grass Clinic. Dr. Bernita Berntsen has been amazing. I highly recommend RnY surgery. I have heard too many people I know who have trouble with lapband that I have never seemed to have.
Anyway, I started at 330lbs and now jump around between 199 & 205. I really want to get down to 180 at some point b/c I think that would be a good weight for me, as does my doctor. I believe in the message that we MUST STAY ACTIVE. I try to exercise by walking approx 2-3 miles about 3-4 times a week whenever possible. I am physically active during the summer months with gardening & other farm related activities. In the colder months, I attend our local fitness center and do resistance & cardio machines. I MUST eat my protein first so my belly gets full or I will snack on carbs that go down easy...that is part of why I bounce around at this weight. I have been around this weight for a year. My goal this summer is to drop another 10 lbs w/lots of physical activity and watching my diet. (I am a teacher, so my schedule frees up in the summer, so I can do other things than grade papers and stress about lesson plans)
And, yes, I have made my goals of sitting on the floor w/my grandgirlies, riding our Harley behind my husband, and generally getting my life back. It has all been worth it, and I DO NOT intend to back slide into my former self.
