I've got a history of low b-12, iron and D. Last time they were checked was in march and I had gotten them all into a normal level range.  After that I moved and became stressed about a lot of life issues and got off track with my vitamin regimen. All my surgery info that I've collected is in a box (along with my in depth list of when and what to take).  Will someone let me know if this sounds alright at all?

9am:  Chewable Calcium and 5000 mcg b-12 sub
12pm:65mg of iron with 500mg of C
3pm: Biotin 5000 mcg and Magnesium with chelated Zinc  400mg
6pm: Multi (i use prenatals) and B1 250mg

2 days a week I take Vit D 50,000iu per dr request.

I have potassium but not sure when I should take it...if I'm not taking enough of something or if my times are messed up on what goes with what.  Please any advice is appreciated!

Good for you for taking your iron with vitamin C..that's great cuz it increases the iron you get by four times (or so my nutritionist aunt used to harp on me..)

I think the potassium would go well wtih the calcium. You are taking calcium citrate? That's the calcium that is absorbed best by us..also, nothing you are taking is enteric coated, right? If you had RNY, the enteric coating makes it totally non-absorbed..I don't take my B's with my calcium..I take my calcium with my D though..

My regime is:

Morning with breakfast: multi, biotin, vitamin D, B complex, I also take my Fish Oil and Glucosamine in the morning too.

Later: calcium and D (I only take 500 sized D so I take it several times a day with 50% daily Calcium (generally 150% of what would normally be daily dose - 3 tablets)

Lunch: calcium and D

Afternoon snack: calcium and D

dinner: B-12..

I am by no means a vitamin expert but this is what I take and when..It looks like you have it down to a science..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

thanks for responding! I've read a whole lot about what vitamins and when, but hearing other peoples opinions and learning what they know may open up things I'd never read or thought to read into, you know?

I know what you mean..Do alot of research..stay proactive..your health counts on your knowing what you're doing..I've learned so much over the last few years and I am not adverse to sharing my thoughts and results.

One example..watch that enteric coated stuff! I can't count how many times I've asked the pharmacist about the coating on things! Sometimes the doctor either doesn't know or doesn't pay attention. One gastroenterologist asked me if I could take aspirin when he knew I had an RNY..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
