Almost 2 years out and feel like a failure sometimes.

I'm almost 4 years out. It's hard but can be done.

Plan plan plan. I truly believe in the saying " failing to plan is planning to fail". People at work laugh at me and label me obsessive. They shut up when I walk in with a cute dress and heels

Move. It does a body good. I will be 35 this year. I know it's still relatively young but I can tell a diff in my body in the last year. I believe that strength training is just as if not more important the older we get.

Best wishes

Be happy.

Good Morning All
I just joined this forum because I need mottivation and your post has already helped me. I have RNY surgery on 1/9/09. I went from 274 down to 172 but that was really low for me since I'm over 6 foot tall. I was comfortable and felt good at 180-190 lbs. I am now 208 and can't stand how I look and feel. I got back in the routine of my old habits of eating and drinking at meals and eating snacks at night. I go from sweet to salty. I had so much energy after surgery....I jst want to feel like that again. I was considering doing the 5-day pouch test to jump start myself. Has anyone tried that? Thanks

Just over two years out and lost almost half my body weight.  I am hovering about 10 lbs from where I want to be.

Desserts are something I like; always have.  So, I make Mock Rice Pudding and Black Bean brownies for treats.  I created two recipes  - garbanzo bean blonde brownies and black bean brownies, with no flour in either.  One has ground almond flour and the other has ground coconut as a flour product.  If you want them, go to www.food.com and search Jan's Black Bean Brownies with Chocolate Cream Cheese icing and Jan's Blonde Brownies.   I take them to work and feed 'em to the 'regular' people...who love them.  You can adjust the Sugar Twin to your level of sweetness.

And Mock Rice Pudding.... a box of vanilla fat free instant pudding, 1.75 cups milk; stir until mixed.  Add about a cup of cottage cheese and about half a cup unsweetened whipped cream (OR Cool Whip, lite, but it's not as good in it).  Gently fold together; add some raisins and cinnamon to taste.  Enjoy.....

So you can eat good meals that are full of protein rather than the crackers, rice, etc. and you will be able to 'have your cake and eat it too!!!"

The 5dpt is a great tool and gets you out of craving carbs.  Go for it; certainly won't harm you and will put you back in touch with your tool!

I am on day 5 of the 5 day pouch test and feel so much more in control. I highly recommend it. I gained about 50 pounds back from my lowest after surgery.(3/9/06) I am so glad that I finally recognized that I don't have to accept slipping back into bad habits. This website rocks! I have gotten so much encouragement and advice. Hang it there; the 5DPT really works. Let us know how you are doing.

I found that I had to return to what I was doing soon after surgery and that I had gotten a little lax. I have re-introduced shakes to my daily routine and the energy and weight loss is AWESOME. Check this out -- http://blessedhands.myvi.net . I started with one shake per day and it reminded me of how I ate right after surgery. I didnt want to feel like I couldnt eat whenever I wanted -- but I also didnt want to gain. If you want to lose -- I moved to the Transformation Kit and I am excited at the weight loss. The best part is my Personal Trainer has done a lot of research and my Nutritionist supported it.

Best Wishes!
"I have been sleeved" (3/25/08) ....MzsReeCee 274/250/192 - Don't let the number fool you -- I have moved into weight lifting and the fat has been replaced by muscle in so many places. We still have 42 lbs to go!
