Hi Everyone,
I had VSG in Feb. 2011. I started at 205 and have stayed at 155 for the past 10 months (I am 5'1"). I don't eat a lot but I tend to eat carbs and sweets. Every evening I say tomorrow I will do better. I have attended Overeaters Annon and the local bariatric support group.
I would like to start posting in hopes of moving forward on this journey. So, I am seeking support. Thanks!

I had vsg in 2008 and several friends that followed after me we have all come to the conclusion that we tend to eat more carbs and junk because you can eat so much more of it therefore satisfying the brain that we have actually eaten enough food when I eat dense protein such as chicken I can eat so little and I'm full so quick and I actually don't like the way it makes me feel afterward and even tho I'm full my brain still wants more. I did reach my goal and I am maintaining but I can totally relate to the eating of the wrong foods and I too everyday say tomorrow I'm going to do better and go for the protein first some days I do ok and some days I don't what I realize now is there won't ever be a day that goes by that I am not consciously aware of what I am putting in my mouth and that this is a day to day battle for the rest of my life. Anyway I support you you can do this just as I know I can as I never want to go back to being fat cheers best wishes to you

OA is a great place to start! I really do believe that it's a substance addiction and the substance is white carbs or sugar..

You're totally welcome to post your intake and exercise on our daily accountability threads..we cheer eachother on. I've been bad lately cuz my email hasn't told me when people post on my threads but I try..all of us can cheer each of us on..it's better coming from all corners..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
