Thank you for your response.

I've actually added a few new things to my diet this week (very low calorie things - most the calories from fat) and digestively, I'm doing great. Far less constipation, which is one of my issues.

I also suffer from migraines, but haven't heard of oen that will make a person lose control of your body! Perhaps this is part of what has happened. I do work with my PCP for pain management, and I have access to pain medicines, and have used them more than usual the last few weeks because of the daily unrelenting headaches that just won't STOP.

Monday I'll hear some of the results from the MRI, and I hope I get some answers.

I'll do some more research though, you've given me a few directions to go.

The husband of someone who works in my office had problems like yours and they figured out it was migraines and he had never had them previously.  No weight loss or surgery connected though.

I was reading your symptoms and they sounded just like me when I was diagnosed with MS. Hopefully you will have a better idea when you get the results of your MRI.

HUGS.. Keep us posted.  Hope you will find an answer.

As you know I also have severe RH. What worsk for me was to increase fats in my diet. Mainly from nuts, and natural (no sugar added) nut butters.
The body can make sugar from proteins, and when I do fat free (even carb free) protein shakes my BS can be all over.  But when I add fat to the shake (unsweet almond milk, or even real PB) my blood sugar stays stable.  i can't do the 100 cal snacks, unless they are nuts. The others are mostly carbs and that may mess me up for days.

if I get low blood sugar (30's-50) I can feel the effects for days.  Almost feel like my body would make way too much insulin and it is messing my blood sugar no matter what i eat. Days like that - protein and fat , with very low carbs intake for a few dasy helps put things back in place.
bread, pasta, cakes, rice, any grains, most fruits - are off limits for me.  They are just not worth the feeling of low BS.
I also get sensitive to SA, and partially to Splenda.   (can have some, but not a lot).

Please keep us posted.  Good luck.

Hi Lith!

Thank you for writing this. It was an unintended encouragement for me - I have been going through a lot of the same things, especially the unexplained rapid weight gain, since February. I actually put 20 lbs on in a month. At first it was edema, which I am prone to. But then the edema went away and most of the weight stayed. For the life of me I can not figure it out.

All of the things I used to do when I would gain 5 or 10 lbs don't work anymore (up my protien, cut out carbs, exercise more). I've been able to get down to about 4 lbs over my "never again" weight, but I'm not where I'm am comfortable and I've had to fight tooth and nail for every pound lost.

I had blamed some new psych meds I was put on and am tapering back off of them - I hope that helps because I really don't have any more answers. And I knew I would be dealing with "bounceback" and a new way of eating but THIS kind of weight gain over such a short period of time with no reason was never something I thought I'd face again.

Please let us know what the doc says. And thanks for posting. It's comforting (for me anyway) to know I'm not alone.

Love ya woman! =)
