Accountability - Monday

Not the Same Dawn

Oh the day I had! On the plus side, the cat (Chubby) started licking the fluid in the canned cat food. Seriously the only nutrition he's taken in in 6 days..He's lost another pound so instead of his healthy 23 pounds a couple years ago he's about 8 pounds..all skin and bones and his eyes look sunken..God I hope he's on the mend..I can't take much more of this.

This last weekend I made sf peanut butter cupcakes and they were good. I knew I'd end up eating all of them so I took them to work to share them (dump them on other people who don't have an addiction..r maybe they do..I just don't want them here!)

I ran out of the office so quick, I forgot to send my lists home..so here's from memory and what I put into fitday..

coffee with NSA Swiss Miss (my home made recipe)

breakfast: my normal protein waffle, 4 large strawberries and sf pancake syrup/butter buds

double espresso latte

24 oz herb tea on the drive into work

1 oz cheddar cheese and 1 pc turkey breast deli meat

24 oz drink mix with ice, Hawaiian Punch Orange

1/2 egg burrito from the weekend

1 sf peanutbutter cupcake..I went to set another one asside for the afternoon and decided to down it right before I left for my lunch at 11:30..bad idea

12 oz decaf with splenda & half n half - most of it. I was watching streaming video of Who Do You Think You are (the Martin Sheen episode) and didn't pay much attention to the decaf..didn't interest me.

The mistake I made with the cupcake was evident when I got about 1/2 hour from when I was suppose to leave for my Physical Therapy..I experienced a blood sugar blunge..because it was all carbs and NO protein..So I grabbed part of my lunch to get over it..It was a 1/3 burger patty with cheddar cheese on it..I didn't even have time to heat it up..I had the shakes, and felt faint..damn it.I had to wait to leave the office until I was okay to drive..I was barely okay to drive and I think I scared the PT staff when I told them I was shakey when I got there. If I'd have blacked out while there, I'd have been really embarrassed and I sure don't need that!

I went to Physical Therapy and had another 24 oz drink mix with ice, Caffeinated to try and keep from falling asleep.

Now I hate acting like a whimpy patient at the physical therapy sessions but darn it..it hurts SO bad..I try and talk (chatter mostly) and keep my mind off of the pain but it really does hurt..It has to hurt cuz they have to move my arm more and more..well, I have had tears in my eyes the last three times..Yeah, I tell them, it hurts but it has to..so I cry. Which embarrasses me..I try not to cry but I do anyway.

I did alittle shopping for my hubby on the way home. Walking and another container of water with ice, GV Strawberry not caffeinated. I bought bird feed for his resident quail.

When I got home, dinner wasn't ready and I wasn't ready for it either. I had 1/2 oz of honey roasted peanuts (but I'll probably have the rest of it later so I counted a whole oz) and a hard boiled egg

Dinner: Baked cheesy fish casserole with asparagus..A recipe I found on food.com..really good and the asparagus was PERFECT..

Okay, totals for the day:

Calories: 1703
Fat: 108.5
Carbs: 70.8
Protein: 121.4

So I turned it all around but that cupcake (the second one..the first one was okay. I should have had protein FIRST and then the cupcake..)

I will probably have a cup of tea when I go to bed..and a container of water and ice too..And although I'm mentally beating myself up for that cupcake and for crying at the therapy office, I can start over tomorrow and it will be better.

How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I'm so sorry you havent heard back on the job interview.  Maybe it'll be another few days before they do the call backs?  Either way, sending job 'mojo' your way so that either you get the call or you find something even better very soon.

I would say call them & check & see if they've made a decision. Doing so shows your taking the initiative & shows your interest.
I know its hard out there & wish you all the best in finding something soon. Keep your eyes on the Lord & He will provide :)

My philosophy on jobs: It's probably a good thing you didn't get the job..there has to be a good reason if you didn't..I've done testing for the same job at least five times. I failed the test the first three times..the fourth time I passed..and when they offered me a position, it was a horrible seat so I declined..then I tested again for that same job and failed again..there has to be a reason!

Things will work out for you..and if the job is meant for you, nothing in the world will keep you out of it..

Still, you did awesome on your protein..good totals! You didn't hit the chocolate cake cuz you were depressed..that's a VICTORY! Keep up the good work..See ya

I have to say my stomach is definitely feeling those crunches and I'm sure my arms will feel the pushups tomorrow. I'm also increasing my bike time by a 5 minute increments this week.

Isn't that awesome the way it works..that's why I'm so sure that sugar is an addictive substance! Acts just like alcohol for an alcoholic..the longer you stay away from it, the less you crave it..

I'm so glad you got fitness partners to work with you on that quest..It's better to have partners cuz when you don't really want to, they can encourage you and visa versa..

GREAT numbers..You may have to increase your calories with the exercise and you know the muscle building will cause the number on the scale to increase..but do it anyway..it's healthy!

Keep up the good work. See ya.

Oh wow...it sounds like that cupcake really sent you into a tailspin.

I remember those sensations...the drop in blood sugar followed by the sweats and the shakes, then the lethargy.  Ugh...
