10 yrs post op... anyone else
Hi everyone! I haven't been around OH for a while, but I'm needing some support and what better place than here! I need to get motivated and I just can't find it. My 10 year WLS anniversary was this past August and I have had a great journey, had a baby, and only regained 50lbs. I say only cause I guess it could be worse... and at least I'm not 320+ where I started.
I'm sure there are others out there that have struggled with regain and got themselves back on track. I'd love to hear how you got yourself back on track.

Hi Tracy
It's one day at a time . You could do the 5 day pouch test for a complete new start, or you could track your food and see how your doing with your protein. Maybe a few tweaks is all you will need to get back to where you want to be.
You can do it because you took the first step and came back.

Hi Tracy,
I'm nearly 10yrs post op (Oct 2002) as well and I've had a 35lb regain that I'm determined to erase.
I've been back on this site for about a week and I'm feeling motivated and supported.
I've been using an app to track all food/beverage intake as well as water, excercise, and weight data. It really helps to see the real numbers, which makes it a lot harder to rationalize 'just a few' chips.
You can do it!

I'm inspired by the fact that you've only gained that much in 10 years and after a pregnancy..just amazes me that it has worked so well..
The several people that I was watching before I had surgery have since failed themselves and gained back more than 100 pounds..I was pretty much the only one I knew that stayed on course and didn't fall back into old old habits..and if I can be as successful as you and only gain 50 pounds??? wow..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Thanks! I have to say that I am also thrilled to only have a 50lb regain from my lowest weight of 150. I also have watched folks over the years gain a large majority of weight back. I'm glad that found my way back to OH because I really do find the support that I'm missing at times.
I've been doing pretty good so far this week. I feel great!! I hope everyone else is making it a great week too!

Hi Tracy. I am 5 years out and I regained 50 without the baby. I crept up to 160, then I went on a sleep medication and voila, 190 in only 6 months. I am doing the 5 day pouch reset now- actually stretching it to 10 days for 4 days of liquids. I really want to get back on track. Let's help each other!!!

I didn't do the 5DPT this time... although I love the soups Kaye has in her book and I have those for lunch, I'm following Day 6. Stick with it because it does really work I have found to get you back on track. I found it hard to find the motivation to get started but I'm pretty sure I found it this time. I have maintained at this weight for 3 years and now I want to shed these pounds a maintain at a lower wieight back where I was. I am so gonna do it! I hope others will find the motivation to do it also.
