Out of Control Weight Gain
I'm battleing about 20 pounds right now of regain. For me, it comes from uncontrolled munching at night and too much sugar free chocolate. So I've started tracking everything I eat which makes me a lot more accountable. If I have to write it down, I think twice about eating it. And my surgery sister and I are sharing what we eat each day to keep each other accountable. I'm happy to say the weight is coming off, so it is possible. And it's good you're catching it now.
Good luck!

I highly recommend the 5 day pouch test to get yourself back on track. I am 2 yrs post op RNY & I started to panic when I gained 5-10 lbs in the past 4 months that I can not seem to get off- I researched the 5 day pouch test online (didnt buy the book- just did what the online outline instructs) and I am on day 5 today- it was AWESOME! Got me back to lots of water (that was a big part- I definately was not drinking enough!) all protein (that was huge too- got rid of my carb and sugar cravings that have been a huge downfall for me) got me down to small portion size (couldnt believe that 3-4 ounces I was waaaay FULL!) (I was up to 6-7 ounces) and stopped my grazing and picking- made me realize just how many times a day I think of taking "just a taste" of something, while cooking, packing lunches, or just as a "little snack or treat"!
I lost 8 lbs so far and am only 1/2 a lb from my "goal"! I havent been able to get below 129 lbs since November and this morning I am 127-- The first couple days are the toughest, but I can not recommend this enough for getting you jump started to being back on track & in control again. I feel like I did during the "honeymoon period" with no hunger or cravings & satisfied at small protein portions & LOTS of water!

Hello,
Yes, I had surgery in 2003, complications in 2006, and I have gained 29#. It may not sound like a lot; however, I am feeling powerless and have no one in that situation that I speak with or discuss how to get back on board. I am also looking for support, and will welcome any suggestions and help. I believe I'm letting my personal life dictate my choices and I believe with the right support from others whom have had the surgery I can b back to my post op surgery wt in no time.
Thx
