I have a talent for running to the fumes on my car too.  The trick is resetting the trip meter on the car when I get gas.  The problem is when my husband fills my tank he doesn't reset it.  This can create problems for me.  Here's my food for the day:

B:  1/2 cup 2% cottage cheese, 14 almonds, 5 prunes, 1 packet stevia
Starbucks iced venti sugar free vanilla 2% latte
23.7oz water
L: 1 cup white chicken chili
2 x 23.7oz water
D:  1/2 flatout flatbread, 6oz boneless/skinless chicken breast, 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp jalapeno ranch, 2 tbsp salsa, spinach, grated carrots/red cabbage, bel pepper, peppercinis

1243 calories, 57.5 fats, 81.5 carbs, 103.5 proteins

Great numbers.  I work at a chemical dependency hospital and today we had someone come do an inservice on eating disorders.  It was so good and I saw myself in a lot of what she talked about.  Not just the disordered part, but she spoke about what the recovery looked like and I see myself cleary in that.  The thing I loved is that she spoke about what an addictive substance sugar is and included the scietific data to support it.  I have surrendered to that fact finally.  I have struggled with it because I have wanted to keep sugar in my life, but this last bit of time trying to make it work in my life really knocked me out.  I had started to refer to sugar as my gateway drug because it always led to me eating all this other crap.  Funny thing is in her presentation she referred to it as the same thing.  She also talked about the high occurence of people with WLS having issues with substance abuse - which I have seen a lot of at work.  Anyway, on with the weekend!  Thank GOD...hopefully me and the hubby we'll be getting out of town tommorrow to go hang out somewhere fun!

I know you're probably out of town but I just wanted to comment on the food addiction thing. I've actually seen someone try and detox from sugar..He had the shakes and the sweats..dry heaves..it was horrible! It was my ex husband..She's so right about transfer addictions too.

Gate way drug or trigger food..whichever! I'm totally convinced that unless and until we (wls patients) deal with those addictive things and are successful in a detox of sorts, it's hopeless. Even with surgery too many people fall back into that life again and they're lost..We're here for support and we all need it.

You're doing awesome..great numbers. Have a great weekend..have fun!
