Morning came really early! Much to do..another barbecue with friends. Spare ribs that we found at the local market for an indecent price! So party we do..so cleaning I must.

My eats for the day:

coffee, coffee, coffee,

double espresso latte with splenda

Breakfast: protein waffles, pear and sf pancake syrup

second breakfast: 1/2 egg and cheddar burrito

snack? nothing..24 oz herb tea

24 oz drink mix with ice

Lunch: 1/4 of the low carb tuna casserole I had..still 563 calories and higher carbs than I thought! wow..but they were good carbs and not the noodles the recipe called for.

another coffee

Dinner: spare ribs 5 of them..and some fries, I think..maybe..I know I need some water. I can feel it!

Totals from that:
Calories: 1723
Fat: 95.0
Carbs: 121.2 (ouch!)
Protein: 103.2

I didn't have any white carbs..the pear was high..21.5 and the casserole was still 45..the burrito and the coffee! Coffee is 7 gr carbs for each one with my nsa swiss miss in it..well, there you have it. I know where I went *wrong*..but I'd do it again in a minute! That tuna casserole is good stuff! I put in twice the tuna too..it took some figuring but I got the stats all worked out..29 grams of protein for that! YUMMY too.

How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Today was a total lazy day.  Most of it spent not talking with the hub.  We finally talked and then laughed at how lame we were being.  Here's the food for the day:

B:  2 slices of protein bread, 1.5 large eggs, 1/4 cup milk, sf french vanilla syrup, 1 packet stevia, 1 tbsp butter
24 oz diet peach snapple
L: 2 slices protein bread, 2 tbsp almon butter, 1 tbsp SF apricot jam, 5 prunes
1 cup 2% milk, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 packet stevia, SF french vanilla syrup
32 oz diet peach snapple
D: 4 oz bonless/skinless chicken thighs, 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese, 2 tbsp jalapeno ranch, 2 tbsp salsa, spinach, grated carrots/red cabbage, yellow bellow peppers, flatout flatbread
24 oz diet peach snapple
S: sf double chocolate brownie

1707 calories, 78 fat, 112 carbs, 100 protein

So i got a little bored and I feel like it showed up in my food.  I ate a little more than I have been in the past week.  However, this is the first weekend in so long that I have done as well as I have.  I am happy about how I did this weekend, this week

LOL..I can feel that getting lazy stuff, but you did really well.  I never even looked at calories, just the carb vs protein number till I was about 3 years out. The first year it was only protein to keep it over 100 grams. What I'm seeing is less and less carbs (the number) and more and more protein..And then when you look at the list, it's good carbs. Carrots, protein bread, prunes, peppers, cabbage...More fiber, more vegetative carbs..good and good..

I'm glad you two recovered quickly. We usually do too. We've been together too long to do anything else..25 years this June..married 22 years this September!

Keep up the good work. You're doing great..

Ive been trying to do this "Full Liquid" diet for the past week or so in preparation for my revision procedure & really havent made much head way (havent lost any/ havent gained any - still eating some instead of drinking full time). At the same time, Im drinking more protein & other liquids & do notice i cant eat as much as i could before - so im slowly feeling more satisfyed sooner.
I need to start logging my stuff b/c i cant remember everything or how much - but i cant find a good online tool to do so & find myself, again, getting frustrated & overwhelmed so i end up avoiding it & not doing it.

my eats today (which actially wasnt so bad):
coffee coffee coffee (w/ about a 1/2 packet of splenda & a touch of dry creamer)
i dont think i had anything for "breakfast" other than chicken broth
chicken broth & more chicken broth

10 minutes on my new elliptical! (why is the arctrainer easier?!?! lol)

Lunch was 2 carne asada tacos from my fav truck. I know its bad that i had the tacos but see the success in only having TWO & feeling feel - recognising that feeling & STOPPING (when normally I would have stuff myself & had 3)

I broke around game time & had 5 crackers & what amounted to a bottle of wine by the end of the day
FF Greek yogurt

dinner was 1/2 of the italian chopped salad from togos & a bag of Miss Vickis sea salt chips
chicken broth chicken broth chicken broth
2nd dInner was chicken broth flavored protein powder in chicken broth (lol)
about 48 oz of diet green tea
SF choc pudding

I realized i hadnt had a lot of protein or "approved" liquids today so i really started pounding the diet green tea tonight.
I also notice that I do still feel the to CHEW & Im already tired of all of the sweets - I need salt.
So I had 5 ruffles chips tonight.
All in all - Not great! Not a 100% complete success - but i do feel its getting better w/ each day.

Fasting is a real bummer for me. I absolutely hate it but with this process it's a requirement twice a year for labs..I whine about it alot but I still do it.

I felt the same way early out..started really hating the sweet protein shakes and would have LOVED to have a teriyaki shake or chicken flavored! They do have unflavored protein but I've never found one I like. the closest I found was chocolate cappuccino shake powder and that basically saved my life!

You seem to be doing okay for trying to get there..Maybe instead of the liquid diet, when you need something to chew go with the soft foods diet..scrambled eggs, refried beans, melted cheese..cottage cheese, yogurt (greek yogurt is higher in protein)..ricotta cheese and some marinara sauce..I'm making myself hungry..

Anyway, you need to follow your diet as much as possible. The doctor usually just wants to be sure you can follow directions and will follow doctor's orders..also to deflate the liver and keep it out of their way while they work on the works, so to speak.

Good luck to you!
