Accountability - Saturday

Not the Same Dawn

Not a bad day. I did my physical therapy exercises twice today and have one more time maybe later..Shopping and walking, house cleaning, vacuuming, four loads of laundry washed, hung up and some of it folded and put away but the most exciting thing I did was to go through my dresser and closet and organize..yeah! So much cleaning and organizing.

Oh, and feeding my old cat. He's eating nearly TWO cans of food a day now and eating dry food. I bought some really expensive, low bulk food (about $2.00 a pound) and not only is he eating it but the kitten that has had basically chronic diahrea is getting better and his coat is shiney..he's even putting on weight..I don't much care how much it costs if everyone is doing better eating it..I'll just have to cut back in other places (not sure where yet but it will just have to happen!)

My eats for the day:

Coffee

Breakfast: 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1 small apple, 1/2 serving sugar free pancake syrup

Double espresso latte - actually pumpkin spice and I have to say I didn't like it.

Second breakfast: 1/2 an egg burrito. fitday has a medium egg burrito so I'm using the whole amount for that cuz the burrito they give me at our local cafe is HUGE..it has to be about 300 calories

24 oz drink mix with ice, caffeinated

24 oz warm herb tea, chamomile..didn't put me to sleep...I thought I might be taking a nap but no...

1 hard boiled egg

24 oz drink mix with ice, wyler's peach tea

oh, snack: some of a No Sugar Added Apple pie. I didn't much like the thick edges where the two crusts meet so I picked that mostly off..I counted it as 3/4 of a NSA Fruit Pie.

Dinner: 1/3 lb cheese burger on a whole wheat sandwich thin..22 grams of carbs..100 calories

Totals for the day:
Calories: 1446
Fat: 77.4
Carbs: 117.6
Protein: 84.4

Actually, I should have had more protein but that's okay. I'm still happy with the numbers today cuz I did alot of stuff to use up all those carbs.

How did you do?

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I make them myself. I have CarbQuick (biscuit/pancake mix that is low carb I get it from netrition.com) and CarbThin Soy Protein Baking Mix (from the same place. it comes in vanilla and chocolate). My goal is to have the lowest carb count I can with this so if you have a protein mix that has lower carbs than protien, it should work too. The biscuit mix can be one like bisquick but that's more carbs than I'm using with CarbQuick.

2 eggs
1/2 cup cottage cheese (I use small curd non-fat or low fat)
1/2 cup plain soy milk (not vanilla)
1 scoop CarbThin
1/3 Cup Carb Quick

[to this I add 2 Tablespoons of flax seed meal (I grind my own) and 1 Tablespoon flax oil ] but you don't have to..

I beat the eggs for a long time and add the cottage cheese and milk and let it beat a long time to make sure it's well mixed..I stir in the last two items and put right in the heated waffle maker, sprayed with non stick spray..

This makes four servings. Each one is 123 calories, 5.4 grams fat, 6.2 grams carbs, 15.1 grams protein..and then you add whatever you like to it. With the flax and sf syrup: 209, 11.8, 13.8 and 16.4 protein..
