had surgury on 9/6.   i have been hearing that stalls are normal, but just didnt know if there is a way to get the weight to start coming off again.  Do you still lost weight even if you dont exercise alot?  thanks so much for your help.

I had thought the body would start a "starvation reaction" in which it slows metabolism down to keep you from starving to death.  Now, your mind knows your not starving to death but the body doesn't know that so it's slowing down to protect itself.

If you excercise, your body can't slow down as much as it would like as it needs to keep you moving.  SO, excercise like a monkey and things should be twice as good as eating less by itself.

When I hit a stall early out I generally increased my calories a little bit to climb over the stall. She's right about the body fighting the weight coming off..it's a natural reaction to what the body thinks is a famine..If you increase the calories the body will believe the famine is over and will drop some more weight..

You will lose without exercise but the point of this is healthy..not a number on the scale or inside your clothes (size tag)..it's healthy..Don't stress about stalls and work on the rules and getting your movement increased and healthy eating habits established..You'll be better off in the long run.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Check with your doctor. Exercise helps me. I don't know if I am eating enough either. My wt loss has been slower.
