Find someone to give the candy to and don't buy anymore! I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. It is hard...really hard. I've found myself looking really hard at the candy but since I have sugar free around it helps me alittle. I can fool my brain into thinking that THAT is good enough.

Now that Robert is gone (isn't it amazing..I know a robert too and he's like  yours is..and he's my BROTHER so it's even worse...) you are free to eat whatever you want without being scrutinized and judged..that's a good thing..

You can do this! It's hard but you're harder..do what you can and then try little changes and celebrate those little victories..Keep up the good work. any successes are good work..

Do what you can..I have to do all sorts of stuff to keep from sneeking candy at night..My candy is honey roasted peanuts. I put them AWAY and so many times if I don't see them, I forget that I have them..

Do try the patches...even if they're old, they should work at least alittle. My hubby is quitting. He's been quitting for about 5 months. he's smoked for 50 years..over a pack a day..non filters. Now he's down to a cigarette every couple of days and is smoking outside, which makes him smoke alot less (because it's inconvenient and getting cold outside..) so whatever works. You're working towards being healthy..any step you take is a step in the right direction..
