Weight Gain - Post Op 6.5 yrs.
So I had my surgery RNY End of Jan 2005 and last year begin to slowing creep up in weight and have gained 40lbs. Now part of that is purely my fault, in that I had the worst project ever to mange and deal with for the last 13 mths and I let the stress and other 'stuff' get the better of me. I saw it but just did not deal with it!! Shame on me, note to self never worth it again!!
So it has taken me a few weeks now as the worst project ever is now on the down side, to get back to exercising 4 days a week (to start) and to begin an proper food log. I took 2wks to just record what I was eating to find it was way too much, and now the last two weeks (as of Sunday) I have been diligent and sticking to 1400-1500 per day in Cals. So far down 9 but that was within a few days, the last 7 nothing has happened. So does anyone know of a forum or area on this site that catering to the post op individual that needs to lose some of the creeping weight, and recommendations on cals, protein, etc. to ensure that we are on the right track.
I am trying to have 60-90 gms of protein a day, few carbs and as few sugars as possible, and try to each every 3-4 hrs to help with being hungrey all of the time, but this is similar to what was done directly after surgery small meals frequently. Some say only eat 3 times a day, some say to eat 5-6 mini meals a day, blaa blaa....I personally prefer when working at an office to each 3 times a days, but when I have the luxrey of working from home (and have had for the last 3 wks) I can do the 3 meals, with snacks with no issue.
So I guess I am hoping to find thoughts on the best method for those of us post op 5 or more years out.
Thanks.

I feel your pain..I work in an office too. I was talking to one of the girls about how much I bring in my lunch bag..nearly 20 pounds (it feels like) water and ice from home (cuz I love our well water) and plenty of snacks..I eat every couple of hours. Anyway, I told her how much I bring and she said it was strange cuz she never sees me eat..I each three meals and small snacks all day long..it's what works for me.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I work in an office too. I bring everything I need from home as well. It is almost embarassing to carry it all in and try to find space for it all in the fridge/freezer. LOL. But, it is what works for me. So, I will continue to do it because I like being a normal weight. I eat every few hours too. It keeps me from getting too hungry and also keeps my blood sugar level.
