Leak

Wow. 6 weeks ago my life changed forever. I went to the hospital complaining of horrible nausea, dry heaving, and severe pain on my left side spent three days in the hospital before they figured out what was wrong. They did an upper gi and a Ct. I had a leak, an infection and a temp of 103. Sent 12 nights in the hospital and got a drain put in. Went home with a picc line in and was on no food for or water for the whole six weeks. My drain came out but the infection didn't so during the second stay in the hospital i got another drain. It also didn't work, then I went in for my third stay a week ago, had an absecc the size of a golf ball.they decided to do surgery to clean the abdomen and triple check that their was no leak. Finally surgery went well. Scary but well. I am off the tpn so I can drink. No more iv. But they did put another drain in and I have to leave that till friday. Otherwise I'm doing well. Thank GOD. And thanks to the support of my family and bf. I couldn't have gotten thru 26 days of hospital stays without them!!

I see you're not even 6 months out yet! Was the pain the only symptom you had or did you have the temperature as well when you went into ER..Was your surgeon the one who discovered the problem or an ER doctor? Was your surgeon even called?
