Found out today that 14 people in our department of 140 voluntarily resigned their positions. That only leaves 14 of the rest of us to get involuntarily let go in October( they will let us know in September if we are one of the unfortunates). I think I will be okay but may have to travel 20 miles extra to one of our other hospitals to teach; I won't complain though!

You're right about the animals. We live far eough out that we get lots of everything..This year the Quail are just THICK..babies by the dozens! We love it.
Years ago I made the decision that I could either live in the biggest local city to the south of here and drive to an even bigger city for a good job or live way out here in the country and drive to the biggest local city..32 miles, even back then was a pretty big deal. I knew I wasn't gonna bike ride or walk it, even back then so..I drive 65-70 miles each day to work. Sometimes to save money and time on the weekends, I shop down there on my lunches and after work so I can take advantage of all the stores there. The nearst one to us is Albertsons and it's the ONLY one..
I bet you don't lose your job but I know how it is when they're planning layoffs. Even if you don't lose your job, it tends to lose the best of the bunch, meaning friends..Sometimes the friends you make at work are better than family.
You did really good. Have you looked into that new skinny cow candy? I haven't been able to check out the stats on it but it says something like low carb..
Keep up the good work. See ya.
Oh, jealous here..temps are up over 100 today and will be higher over the weekend..seems I have a nap under the cooler planned!
