So, I was 409 pounds on June 27th, 2002 and now I weigh about 211 pounds.  I fluctuate about 10 pounds but that's about it.  The surgery was a life-saver for me and I still thank G-d that I decided to go through with it!

I do have problems with low iron and b-12 levels but those are easily correctible.

Surgery was and still a blessing for me.

Have a wonderful day!

Congrats. I also have problem with B12 levels. So in the last few months I started doing the B12 injections. With weekly B12 shots (self administrated) of 1000 cc, I finally can keep my B12 at 1200-800.
Iron - still not sure what to do... but hope to get some IV soon. (hope my doc agree)

I'm approaching my 9th "birthday", too, in July.   Post-RNY has been something of a struggle for me, particularly over the last 2-3 years.  I've had 2 knees replaced (they didn't hurt when I was too big to exercise!), 2 bowel obstructions (odd for this many years out), and most recently, 2 hernias.  The first one was repaired at the same time I had a tummy tuck, which was complicated by a bout with MRSA infection.  So I've been pretty much steadily under doctor's care for 3 years--but I wouldn't have traded this new life for any of it!   I can walk, before the hernias I was exercising steadily, I don't run out of breath, and I have kept the majority of my weight off.

I echo Lawrence's statement:  Surgery was and still is a blessing for me, too!
