Where do I find the 'off' switch?

I weighed myself this morning and am now 65.9kgs (145 lbs).  This means that since my heaviest ever, 132.5 kg (291.5 lbs), I have lost 66.6kgs (146.5 lbs).... my loss is more than my current weight!!

The great things are that I now wear size 10 (US size 8... or maybe 6) jeans.... I am fit, healthy, active and sooo much more confident.

The not so great things are that I can play the xylophone on my ribs and I have to use an extra mat for padding when exercising on the floor as I no longer have my own built in padding.  My bony ass means I get abrasions if I am too strenuous.  A few weeks ago when doing zumba I heard/felt this strange whoompf whooompgf sound/sensation... and realized it was my bum flaps flopping around.

This is something I never, ever thought I'd say.... but I don't really want to get thinner.  So will somebody please tell me where I find the 'off switch'.

You are likely at the point where you need to transition to maintenance.  You need to consume the amount of calories needed to keep your weight the same.  It takes some practice to figure out where that is.  Don't panic if you gain a few lbs in the process of finding the right amount.

If you are still losing, try adding a couple hundred calories per day at first (do this by adding another small meal or some calorie dense foods like peanut butter).  Also make sure you eat a bit more on the days you work out.

Basically you should be able to eat what you want, when you want, within reason of course.  I still track my food intake daily M-F, but don't do it on the weekends and I'm also more liberal with my eating/drinking on the weekends.  I also eat 6 times a day, every day.  I need it for energy since I workout 6x a week.

I've been in maintenance now for 15 months....and it really is much harder than the losing phase (finding that right balance).  You just have to experiment to find what works for you.

Your body will begin to settle into your new weight and not look/feel so bony.  At about the 2 year mark I noticed I looked more "normal".

You're where I was at 11 months. My surgeon said "You're done losing now." and I had to ask him How do I quit losing? Silly thing is his answer was "Eat more."

I've been working on maintaining since 11 months out. that's four years ago. It's trial and error and keeping an eye on your serving sizes, carbs, protein and your scale..I just don't want to get back into those old habits that got me obese to begin with so, I'm obsessive.

I feel your pain ond the Whoompfing sound..my arms had a tingling thing going on when I hung my arm out the window of my convertible..seems that the breeze was slapping my bat wings around..extremely NOT attractive..LOL. And feeling my ribs is sort of a weird thing that I can do now..that's alright. I like it since it's so novel for me now..I have bones that I had no idea I even HAD for years..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
