Hi Robyn, I share a similar story to yours. I'm 8 years out from an RNY. My extra 30 pounds eventually come off, plus a few extra. This was around my 6th year. The pouch test you're asking about may be the one where they have you eat certain foods, like cottage cheese. They probably want to know how much food you can eat filling your pouch. They check to see how much your pouch may have stretched out and how quickly it passes through the pouch into the intestine.

Keep up the good work!

I am doing the 5 Day Pouch Test right now. The nutritionist connected with my surgeon's office recommended it to my group if we felt stuck. But check with your surgeon/office too. I am on day 3 of the 5 days. Essentially you do pure protein and water for 5 days like going back to the start of things. On days 1 and 2 you do liquid protein like protein shakes, "cream of" soups or sugar free jello and puddings. On day 3 you do soft proteins. Today I have boiled eggs, tuna and orange roughy planned for dinner. Be sure you drink 30 min after meals. Days 4 and 5 are more solid proteins like chicken, etc. Check out

It's all there. Although I have only done it for 2 days, so far I have dropped 5.6 pounds total. Naturally most of that is water weight, but I feel better, not eating as much because I feel fuller and not tied to the carbs. Also, I have been on a plataue for 2 months and then even gained back 8 pounds. So feeling really good about this. Like hey, I can still do this.

Hope this is helpful for you.
