I have been trying to find products which do not contain "high fructose corn syrup" and I found the Kashi all-natural cereal bars. They seem to have a balance of protein/carb/fat.
Anyone have an opinion on these?
I am 7.5 years out and I am definitely able to eat way more than I ever thought.
Not good.

The dark chocolate coconut one is yummy but I try to not eat anything like that except when I'm training for a race. I do like the South Beach bars but can you believe they are nowhere to be found in my area all of a sudden? Total devastation!
Anyhoo, if they don't trigger carb cravings for you then they have to be better than sugared stuff, right?
Personally, processed stuff like that isn't good for me mentally or my mindset but if it works for you, go for it.
BTW, 7.5 years out? If you don't care for me asking, have you maintained? Any tips? I'm finishing up year 3..

Same in my part of North Carolina. I am diabetic, and getting ready to consult a doctor for weight loss surgery...I have searched all over my county and can't find the South Beach Bars. My husband is also diabetic, and we used to "clean out" the grocery shelves whenever they would go on sale. I don't know what's going on. They seem to be available by mail order for Amazon.Com but I hate to go that route! Guess I need to call the company.

Sorry I just saw your question. No, I have not been able to maintain my lowest weight--in fact I never was able to get to my goal weight. I got to one weight and it totally stopped no matter what I did. I was "Ok" with being at 170, but after the 3rd year out my appetite came back and I was able to eat more food-I always thought the pouch would stay small-but apparently not. I have gained 40 lbs and I am totally sick over it. And I am not a big eater, I do not eat sweets or drink sodas or alcohol. I exercise and it doesn't matter. I just get heavier legs with more muscles. I just read the NY Times Bestseller "Wheat Belly" and I am beginning to think maybe that is the problem with this whole country!
I like an occasional South Beach Meal Replacement Bar...usually the peanut butter. Also, Power Balance Bars, the Protein Plus ones with reduced sugar.
Power Balance Protein Plus has 270 calories, 22 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar (but sugar alcohols are 26 so the effect is lots of noxious gas).
South Beach Meal Replacement: 210 calories, 19 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar (but 18 grams sugar alcohols)
Also! Nature Valley Sweet&Salty Peanut Bars: 170 calories, 4 grams protein, 11 grams sugar (no sugar alcohols!)
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
