Anyone tried Hcg drops/diet to lose the regain?

This is not an  ad -- this is for real! I had WLS in 2003, lost to a healthy goal weight, and stayed there for 2-1/2 years. I have been steadily gaining about 10 lbs a year ever since. I finally gave up and resigned myself that I would probably eventually regain the all the weight I lost. I have posted on this site, as well as others, over the years seeking advice on what to do to reverse the gain and get back to my healthy weight of 125. Six weeks ago a good friend I hadn't seen in a while told me she had lost 30 lbs in a matter of about 6 weeks. Of course I had to know how she did it. What she told me surprised me: she had been on the Hcg diet drops. Now this is a friend who doesn’t do fad diets.  This is also someone I trust to tell it to me straight. I also remember seeing a show Dr. Oz did back in February where he talked about his wife losing weight on Hcg, and that he couldn't find anything wrong with it. So I thought, what do I have to lose (but maybe some weight). Fast forward 6 weeks, and I have lost 25 lbs. It was almost like those early months and years post-wls, when you have no appetite or desire to eat. I am now on a 3 week stabilization period, after which I will do another round on the drops to lose even more. I can't wait! This is truly the best thing I have done since WLS!

I'm working towards getting back into sizes 6-8 once again! In the meantime, I'll enjoy the 25 lb. loss I achieved in 6 weeks!

I have not tried this myself but I have heard about it.  The reason I never tried it is because there has to be about 100 sites selling it.  How do you know what your getting.  The orginal formula devised by the doctor was an injection.  Now they have sublinguel drops.  I know a weight loss place here is doin it now.

How....or ....who did you gets your from?  You can get from the pharmacy but i believe you have to have a script for it.  Ohh the name of the place here in jax doin it was Metabolic weight loss centers.

Grats on your weight loss..:)

I found the same thing when I googled it -- page after page of companies selling it.  That's why I sat on it for a while trying to decide what to do.  Then a close friend from Florida emailed me that she had lost 30 lbs in 6 weeks on the drops/diet.  I've known this woman for 30 years and I trust her.  She's not a fad dieter.  In fact she's a phys-ed teacher who has begun packing on the pounds after knee replacement slowed her down.  She learned about it from a colleague of hers, who she witnessed losing about 30 lbs herself.  That's when my friend tried it.  She was facing a 2nd knee replacement (which she had 2 weeks ago), and her doc told her she HAD to lose weight before the surgery.  So she went on the drops/diet and lost 30 lbs.  She is going back on the drops in another week (you have to be off the drops for 3 weeks between rounds) to lose another 10-15 lbs.   I have just started my 3 week hiatus from the drops, during which time I must keep my weight within 2 lbs of my ending weight.  Then in 3 weeks I'll go back for another round of drops/diet, and hopefully more weight loss.

Initially I tried to find a doc or clinic in the area but I live in the Chapel Hill area of NC, and the closesst clinic was in Charlotte.  I have had such success with the drops that I have asked to become a distributor.  The company where I get my drops is called Omnitrition.  http://www.omnitrition.com/    There's even a Facebook page people can join to report their progress or ask questions  (you have to be invited in).

Anyway, I couldn't be happier with my weight loss.  I've gone down 2 clothing sizes and am now no longer wearing plus sizes -- YAY!

Betsy...how many drops do you take a day// how many bottles are needed for 4-6 weeks?  I had my surgery Feb 2006......had a suprise pregnancy with bed rest in 2008.....cant seem to loose this last 25 lbs to get back to pre baby weight....so frustrating.  This sounds good...I am also doing liquid intake once again to try and get my tummy back to where it was baby, they made me eat like crazy in the hospital for fear I my baby wouldnt get sufficient calories.  Thanx!

most people do the 45 days on one bottle of drops (costs around $87  with tax/shipping).  I tried everything over the last 5-6 years to lose the regain, and nothing worked until now. and losing 25 lbs in 45 days is unheard of.   I can't believe the changes already. I'm down 2 clothing sizes!

Betsy,

This is a hormone.....correct?  How will it affect your body long term?  I saw something on Dr Oz about the side affects...pretty scary....then theres the "trustworthiness" of the product you're getting.  I, myself can get back to basics and lose...but was looking for my hubby who I feel will do well but health risks are certainly keeping me from committing.

Did we watch the same Dr. Oz segment?  Back in February?  He did the show on hCG because his wife lost weight on it.,  According to my recollection, while he did say he would rather she had lost the weight on her own, he could not say not to use hCG.  I don't know of anyone who has experienced ANY side effects whatsoever, and I am part of a group on Facebook of over 1,000 people who are either on the drops, or are on maintenance after having completed a round or rounds of drops.  Those on maintenance are not having any difficulty keeping the weight off.

Hi, Betsy.  I just looked at the omnitrition site.  Do instructions come with this?  There wasn't much info on the site.  I want to know exactly what I have to do before I would spend the money to try it.

Thanks.

Omnitrition sells through a network of independent distributors, not by sales through its website.  Since I so strongly believe it their products (not just the hCG drops but many of their other products), I have become a distributor.  So the instructions for use of their drops comes from the distributors.  If you are interested, email me at betsy at crittendens dot com and I will send you the information.  As of this morning, I am down 35.5 lbs (I started on the drops on April 26th).  Other than gastric bypass, have you ever heard of weightloss like that!

Betsy!  Wow, that is amazing!  I am looking into HcG once I have my baby in September to lose not only the baby weight but the rebound weight since I am almost five years out from surgery.  My question is this, I am hypothyroid, and do not want to do 500 calories in fear that cals that low will make my thyroid tank again.  I have read you can do HcG with 1,000 or 1,200 calories and that it will still work.  Can you tell me what you did?  Congrats!  It must feel so great to have defeated that regain.
