Regained weight after lapband-Teenager
I had the lapband in 2007 at 16 years old and lost about 80 pounds or so, I was doing great then things started to change. I have gained back all that I lost and then some, I am at a low point and I do not know what to do. I have been too embarassed to go back to my doctor ( who is great and never had a single problem with ) because I had the surgery young and pretty much failed. Now, I realize I need to some how rebound and get back into see my surgeon. I feel like I am the only one that gained weight from lapband and now I am 19 years old. The reason that I had the surgery was to be healthy and to help me achieve my career goal as a police officer. I am not sure what my surgeon will say but hopefully he can help me get everything back to normal. I need to get back on track but I definately need any help, ideas and suggesstions about all of this and if you think it is possible to rebound. Thank you for your help and motivation!

I think you should def go see your surgeon ASAP and talk about your diet and maybe adjusting the lap band? Maybe those two things are what threw it out of wack. And you shouldnt be embarrassed.. Im only 18 too, so young just like you. But there is nothing to be embarrassed about hun. If you could go get help the first time then you are strong enough to go the second, third, fourth ect.
Good luck :] you'll be fine

I agree that you should go see your doctor. Do you think you're the only person who has ever re-gained their weight? I understand that you're embarrassed, but you may just need a fill. All this time waiting and worrying - you could already be on your way back to a healthier you.
See your doctor. Go back to the rules. Start today. You can do this!!! Good luck.

Regardless of which surgery we have, we must accept that our lifestyle has to completely change forever in order to maintain weight loss. The first thing you should do is see your surgeon for a check up and a tune up if you need one.
Then commit to making good choices at least 80% of the time. And the most important--get moving. Exercise must be a regular part of your lifestyle, and I'm talking about weight training and cardio.
You are young, and I wish to God someone had been honest with me at your age and helped me get into the habits I needed to be healthy for life. I didn't learn it (and had to do it on my own****il I was 44!! Please do not give your life up to obesity!!!
Log your food--EVERYDAY and be honest
Protein first
Get Support-either from this site or a group, or a gym
MOVE YOUR BODY--workout 6 days a week at least an hour a day--mix it up--do things you like: try dancing, hiking, jogging, yoga, weight machines, free weights, swimming, biking
Weigh only once a week
Do not live a life of deprivation--that is how we got fat in the first place. Allow some things that you like ON OCCASION...and when you overindulge, run some more. That is how thin people live.
Sweetie, you can do this, and you are so worth it. Do not give up your dream of being a police officer. Set a goal date to enroll at the academy and make your dream come true!

Thank you guys for your advice and support. I am going to be calling my surgeon today so I can start to get back on track and achieve my goals of being healthy and to become a police officer. Thank you again for your help and good luck to all of you as well. I hope that in a year from now when I join the police academy I will be as healthy as ever and in shape! Thank you guys!
