On the 20th I will be five years hard... seems a million years ago I was justing being wheeled into surgery. Am doing great... all my labs are good, been a good girl with taking all my vits/sups and been keeping on top of my eating and working out. Have been maintaining my loss.. up about 3-4lbs but still holding strong.
Hope everybody is doing well!

Good for you Jennifer! you are certainly encouraging. I am almost 3 yrs out from RNY, I have recently gained back 8 pounds and am fighting to get rid of it. Could you maybe give me an example of what you eat and how often?

I eat every few hours, always have since surgery and I find it works the best for me.
I have hot tea in the morning at 7am,
bfast - 9am  2 hardboiled eggs (no yolk) 2 pieces turkey bacon and a serving of fresh fruit
snack 11/1130a - serving of nuts
lunch 1230ish - protein/veggie... I have been loving cobb salads lately so I have been eating those usually every day
snack 3pm - greek yogurt or cottage cheese and a trader joes fruit fiber bar
Ill usually have another snack around 530/6... maybe a piece of cheese or some hummus with carrots or low carb toritlla.
dinner - veggie/protein... lean protein with a serving of veggies... chicken and sugar snap peas

I was eating more bread carbs but am trying to 'detox' and cut back right now... was eating too many of them, finding I have more energy and feeling better not eating so much bread. I give myself a 'cheat meal' once a week where I can eat what I want... typically its a weekend night dinner and we go out to eat. Its nice thats its summer and there are so many good fruits/veggies to eat and its perfect grill weather so I have a lot of options food wise!

You are such an inspiration and I love reading about long term successful people.  You've done what I suspect is the key to success--continued to live a modified lifestyle that includes regular exercise.

I see by the above post you and I eat very similarly....I switched to 6 or 7 mini-meals after the first year and it really helps me...I also love hot green tea!  Never would've touched hot tea before surgery and now I love it.

Hats off to you and congrats on your continued success!

Thanks Jennifer! I'm trying to get carbs out too.... They truly are addicting. I'm gonna try some of your ideas for foods.

Hi Jennifer!

Thanks for updating, you are doing GREAT! These are the stories we also need to hear, next to all the negative hoopla about rny these last few months.

Saw your eating schedule, it looks great! Any idea how many cals/protein you still average after 5 years?

Any other screts to your succes? Do you still not drink with your meals for example?

Love from holland
