Accountability - Tuesday
I tried to do better today..I have plenty of room for improvement but instead of increasing my intake, I went DOWN..this is probably mentally in response to the fact that I've been having an *off road* snack before bed and not putting it on my list and not accounting for it..but, I'm still not gaining weight. In fact, I weigh less than I did last year at this time. Not all that much less but about 5 pounds.
5:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

6:00 am 1/4 protein waffles, 3 large strawberries raw, 1/3 serving sf pancake syrup and butter buds
6:30 am double espresso latte, plain soy milk and splenda

8:45 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, MiO Strawberry Watermelon

11:00 am 5 oz stewed chicken thigh meat (left overs) and some of a small potato - saving that for later..

WOW Dawn! you do really well. I am amazed at how your maintaining. I'm 21/2 yrs out from RNY and Iv'e put on 7 lbs in the past few weeks. Iv'e been trying to get back on track but maybe I'm not getting enough calories. I'll post todays eats and you can tell me what you think. Maybe I really need to up my calorie intake I'm just scared to.
B boiled egg and 3 oz of steak
L 1C Salad with 3 slices of avocado, 3 slices of tomato, boiled egg, 2 oz of steak meat and 1/4c. of broccoli
D 1/2 c, salad with 2 oz of chicken breast
S 1 oz cashews
84.5 ozs of water and 16 ozs of coffee.

that could be it..I get a bit nervous after a few days where I hit 1800 (in my mind) in calories but when I weigh again, I've actually lost the better part of a pound...I have no idea how I have been able to maintain with this..And actually, over the last year I've lost 5 pounds. I think it was a mental thing when my lovely (s) sister-in-law said "I'm SO glad you've put on a few pounds." which got me to thinking that I had maybe..darn it. I need to get tougher with suggestive comments like that..
My thing is: MOVE more and keep my protein up. My protein is nearly always above my carbs and I try really hard to have the good carbs like veggies and fruit..I was thinking this morning it'd been a while since I had a sandwich thin but I had a couple tortillas I think Friday..I also eat breakfast now where before surgery, I never did..I also eat every couple of hours so I'm never really starving. Of course, it makes it really hard to fast

Yeah, ritz aren't exactly high in fiber. LOL. But still, because of your exercise regime, you do just fine..I'm getting my dessert alittl earlier in the evening and having ice water when I go to bed..it seems to help the munchies I get then..and helps with the hot flashes too. I'm gonna be miserable this summer!

I'm gonna try to get in more calories, of course from dense proteins and fruits and veggies. I also like how you eat every few hours because that almost leaves no room for grazing on bad stuff. I'm gonna start and I'll let you know my progress. I do walk about 3-5 miles a day but I am going to add some weights to that as well. I know what you mean about those sister in laws! Mine would love to see me fat again. I won't be giving them that pleasure :)
I should use weights too..I keep meaning to start but usually walking is an activity I do as some sort of project..like shopping and delivering the mail at work..walking is not hard on my joints or my feet..I can walk slow if I'm tired and still feel like I'm DOING something or fast if I'm energetic..
In anycase, I do what works for me. Move more, more protein, less bread, more water and BREAKFAST..It's all the stuff we've been hearing for years and apparently once I got the substance (food) addiction under control, it's working..

Don't try and change too much at once. If it gets to feeling like too much, you won't keep it up and that's the biggest danger..baby steps!
