5 years....
...since I had my gastric bypass surgery. I started out strong, like I know we all did, losing 100lbs in only 6 months time. I went from 331 down to 196 and was feeling fantastic. Back came my happiness, my self confidence and I was just myself again, not that sad, lonely fat girl.
I had issues sure. Herniated intestine surgery in Oct 2006, intessuception in March 2007 (never fixed surgically, it went away on its own), severe B12 and anemia, but all in all everything was okay and under control.
Now I find myself at 266lbs. Eating everything I could eat before the bypass, no dumping no issues with food at all. My problem is I'm so unhappy and disgusted with myself. I have no idea where to go or what to do from here. I didn't go through the surgery just to gain the weight back.
Im asking for advice, tips, tricks....ANYTHING that can help me kick start the weight loss and get back down to where I was and even less.
Thank you all in advance for your help and support.

You'll need to find where you are and what you are doing before you can decide which way to go. I would suggest you journal your foods and see where you stand with that..how many calories and that..carbs, protein, fat..then take a look at the carbs. If sugar is the problem, you need to find a way to cut it out completely..I am serious. Sugar is as addictive as crack and can be treated as such..
You still have the tools to succeed, you just need to use them again..Good luck to you.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I am 8 years post op and trying to lose 90 lbs that I regained from steroids. I have been able to lose 65 lbs so far. I started logging my food and exercise on a website myfitnesspal.com. I would suggest going back to basics such as not eating 30 min before and after a meal and taking 30 min to eat a meal. I know it's hard, but if you are truely ready to lose the weight again you will do it. Wishing you the best of luck!

Take it one day at a time.
I would start with journalling your food. That will at least keep you honest with yourself and make you think about everything you are eating currently and also help you decide on better choices.
I HATE to journal my food...or should I say use to HATE it. I never did it after surgery and only recently did I really start doing it (now that I want to lose these 20 poundsI put on while preggo). I found this great app for my android phone (they have them for blackberries too)...myfitnesspal.
You can also use the website for FREE myfitnesspal.com.
LOVE it. I never have an excuse not to keep track of my food now. No matter where I am I have my phone and it is very easy.
After making a habit of journalling your food then you can analyze and change it.
You still have the tool....just a matter of getting back into the habit of using it again.
