Figured I wouldn't have a chance to get on the computer tonight once I get home so hope yall don't mind if I get this started. Today was the first day of the office "detox" from carbs. So far so good. Having a tiny headache but that may be more weather related than carb withdrawal. You would have thought we were having a party in here this morning. All 6 women came in toting at least 2 grocery bags apeice. We've got the pantry and fridge stocked and ready to go.

So far here's how my day looks:

B: scrambled eggs w/ just a little grated cheese
s: 1/2 cup plain yogurt w/ splenda & cinnamon
L: Ham & Cheese Rollup w/ Dill Pickles & Green Pepper Rings
s1: SF Choc. Pudding
s2: Sf Popsicle
D: Ham & Green Beans***
lns: Celery & Peanut Butter***

*** when I get home

I've gotten in all of my vitamins and supplements. Water is at 80 oz. right now. Exercise is hopefully going to be a walk in the park but it so damp, windy and chilly that I may change that to a yoga DVD. Either way I will get something done tonight before I go to bed.

Hope yall have had a wonderful day too!!!

Actually I'm glad you got this started early, Iris ;-)  Being on the west coast, it is 'late' when I get here...but tonight will be even later as I have a line-dancing exercise class tonight followed by my regular weekly support group meeting. Won't be home much before 9pm :-(  So....my food for the day..actual and planned ^_^

B  Slim Fast chocolate shake
3-8oz decaf coffee
L  4oz ahi tuna w/1tbs tartar sauce, 1/2c 2% cottage cheese
6oz NSA Swiss Miss chocolate hot drink
2-20oz Sobe flavored water
D  (probably) left over dinner from Texas Roadhouse (saturday)..3oz sirloin tip, 2tbs gravey, 1/4c mushrooms/onion sauteed,  and 1/2c green string beans
S  4oz Dannon Fit & Lite yogurt
before bed 20oz Sobe flavored water

thanks again Iris for getting this started...now I know what I'm having when...and I can forget about food (like that is ever gonna happen LOL)
Have a great day!

Nancy, I was reading your post this morning and then I checked the sale flyer for CVS before heading out and there is was on sale. Sobe water... I've never tried it before, but I came home with two bottles because you made it sound so good.. Of course, I had an unforturnate encounter with Russell Stover's Maple Cream Easter Eggs.. fortunately, they only show up once a year...

Dawn suggested I cut out bread in the morning to try to get ahead of the junk cravings. Let me see if I can make that work. I took some chicken breasts out of the freezer to thaw for tomorrow and I'm now looking for some interesting way to prepare them... but I keep getting an image of Goldie Hawn in "Overboard" standing at the stove saying with amazement: "I handled and prepared raw food??"

Today's totals:
calories: 1758 (I just could not make myself write down my food for today and have to include those 'eggs')
protein: 80 grams

all fluids and vitamins.

look forward to reading you all tomorrow!

Leila,
I tried a new chicken dish for dinner tonight;cheese stuffed chicken.
Ready in 35 minutes; 1 serving
4 oz chicken breast
1 light laughing cow swiss cheese wedge
1/4 c low fat cottage cheese
1/3 c disced tomato
2 T fresh rosemary
2 T oat bran
Preheat oven to 350F Spray a baking dish with non stick spray
Cut chicken breast in half horizontally and set in baking dish
Mix and mash together the laughing cow and the cottage cheese until combined then add in tomatoes and Rrosemary
Stuff the cheese mixture on one half of chicken breast and top with other half of breast. Dust top with oat bran; I used ground flax seed instead
Bake for 30 minutes; mine took 45 for some reason and I got 2 servings from this on breast.
I liked it, i salt and peppered the chicken is the only other variation I made to the recipe.

Leila -

My family has 2 new favorite ways to do chicken. One is just to make chicken chili. Sometimes I use Ground chicken and sometimes I just dice the chicken breast up and use in in place of ground beef.

The other version is a crock pot chicken with salsa. Put the chicken breasts in the crock pot add a can of beans (i rinse and drain either a can of black beans or kidney beans) then a can of rotel spicy tomatoes with green chilis (or use a cup of your favorite salsa). Cook on low 8 hours. 30 minutes before serving you can add a block of cream cheese if you like. Take 2 forks and shred the chicken breasts.

I eat it straight from a bowl. My family likes to put it in wraps with lettuce and sour cream.

It's exceptionally tender and we love it.

Hey Leila...on that Sobe water...just be sure it is the Zero Calories one...there are two types of Sobe ;-)  And the ice tea is not calorie free either.  I buy by the case at Sam's...getting 3 flavors,  berry-berry, fuji apple pear and yumberry pomegranate.  I've tried a couple other flavors that I was able to get from Walmart....wasn't too impressed LOL  I'll stick with the 3 in the case.

Your easter eggs are like my halloween carmel apples LOL  Just thought I'd share ^_^

And thanks for asking for chicken receipes!!!  The ones listed here sound fantastic...gonna try the one with the laughing cow cheese for sure!
Hope your day is going good!!

I tend to stray a little in the evening hours so maybe coming on this thread each day will help me more:

- Click and 8 oz skim
- 2 apples, banana (not all at once)
- baked chicken breast
- South Beach peanut butter bar
- 4 oz 93/7 burger on whole wheat sandwich thin
- Fiber Plus bar
- sf pudding cup

low on calories, 3 miles of running plus upper body weights...trying to carb it up some this week in preparation for Sunday

Be happy.

Seriously it isn't when I eat what I plan to eat that I have a problem because I have only good stuff with me..but if I mess up and don't bring enough and I'm left to the vending machines or what someone brings into the office...I'm dead..LOL..

The beginning of another week..this time, I have to work all week so it's gonna feel really LONG!

5:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

6:00 pm 3 oz beef polish sausage, 1/2 cup canned carrots, 1/2 cup scalloped potatoes from a package

Not too bad, some poor choices (crisp bar) some good choices (plenty of water)..so there's always room for improvement. I tell you I had a NSV today..Several of the girls started a diet a week ago by what I eat and when I eat..and it's working for them too. One girl has lost 7 pounds already..wow..that made me feel really good.

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
