Accountability - Wednesday

Not the Same Dawn
on 3/23/11 11:21 am - BEE EFF EEE, CA
All in all a better day for water. A worse day for exercise. It's snowing here for pete's sake! But tomorrow, housework and maybe some walking if the weather looks better..

My eats for today:

coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

breakfast: protein waffle, sf pancake syrup

espresso latte (double)

24 oz herb tea, Stash Chocolate Hazelnut

2nd breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 tomato slices and 1-1/2 slices rye toast without the crust

more coffee

24 oz drink mix with ice, Hawaiian Punch Orange

24 oz drink mix with ice, GV Strawberry

Lunch: a hard boiled egg with salt

Coffee wNSA Swiss Miss

Dinner: baked chicken breast (4 oz) on a sandwich thin..I planned on eating a small baked potato with butter but...no WAY!

Not sure if I'll have any dessert. Dessert types of food are pretty scarse in this house lately..money is too tight for that sort of stuff when I have to buy gas that's too expensive!

Totals for the day:
Calories: 1097
Fat: 52.8
Carbs: 61.3
Protein: 102.1`

I'm thinking more water in the form of more tea..I really love that Stash Chocolate..it really tastes like chocolate!

How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

I have succeeded in reaching 49% protein for the day.  Everything I read tells me I need to up protein to at least 50% if I want the lbs to drop...but, man, it is so hard to deny the craving for sweet carbs!  Every time I passed those blasted M&M's, I told myself I was addicted and even ONE would be my downfall.  For today, I conquered the urge...tomorrow will be a new day and new battle...
See ya tomorrow!

Snow? We hit 60 degrees today! Rain is already back but next week is supposed to be nice again. Busy day at work but fulfilling. Gas is expensive; I am going to start taking the bus a day or two a week now that the weather is better. It lets me off right in front of the hospital, and work pays for the pass! I also save the proce of the toll for the bridge.
0830-boiled egg and oatmeal w splenda
1030-doughnut at staff meeting- hanging head in shame
1300-cup of chicken tortilla soup and 1/2 pbj on wheat
1600-apple, string cheese and 12 cashews
2000-lean hamburger patty on 100 cal english muffin
2100-animal crackers
all my water and such and 65 minutes on the treadmill 3 miles of running and the rest walking at 4.0 mph and incline at 2 Ashamed of the doughnut, but did not have a second one in the afternoon like I really wanted.

I really think that coming here and posting yesterday about the carb demon took some of the power away. All in all Wednesday was a pretty good day. Spent some great quality time with the family and got some much needed rest & relaxation. It's amazing what a good conversation and a great cup of coffee can do for weary souls.

@Sunray - thank you for your comment yesterday about knowing you're not alone. I've wobbled back and forth on cold turkey vs. gradually eliminating the carb monster. Tomorrow is my birthday and my kids have something planned for tomorrow night and my Moma has something planned for Saturday so I 've decided (and enlisted everyone in the office) that Monday is cold turkey carb detox. 3 of the other girls (there are only 6 of us in here) have decided to do the 2 week induction phase of South Beach. THe other 2 have agreed not to bring in the outside food that we all find so tempting. Between the office help and support here, I'll be in great shape.

Commute: Click w/ LF chocolate Silk "milk"
B: Banana during a meeting
s: cajun trail mix
L: Progresso Light Chicken soup
s: Key Lime Activia Yogurt
D: Garden Salad & Spaghetti Sauce (no pasta) 1 small slice of garlic bread

Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape.
