Accountability - Thursday

Not the Same Dawn
on 3/17/11 12:06 pm - BEE EFF EEE, CA
Happy Saint Patty's Day! Someone had a weird take on it..they said St Patrick was known for ridding Ireland of snakes so we should be eating snakes rather than corned beef..I think I'll stick to corned beef myself! LOL..

5:30 am 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1 cup black berries, 1/3 serving sf pancake syrup

6:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

6:30 am triple espresso latte

7:00 am 24 oz herb tea, Lipton Vanilla Caramel Chai

8:30 3 celery sticks

9:10 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat

9:45 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, Crystal Light Energy Strawberry (this is by far the yummiest crystal light EVAR!) Caffeinated

10:20 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, Wyler's Peach Tea

Lunch was long and drawn out over 2 hours!..3 oz corned beef, 1 slice rye bread, some mustard..several salads, coleslaw, some chips with beef tamale insides on it(I called it Mexican Beef Stew..great stuff!) ..how the heck am I gonna count this stuff...no clue

2:00 pm 24 oz drink mix with ice, GV Strawberry

4:00 pm leftovers from lunch, broccoli salad, 3 chicken wings, a bunch of grapes something called popcorn salad (divine!) and spinach dip

4:30 pm 24 oz Drink mix with ice, Lipton Cherry Blossom Tea (couldn't even finish this! I'll have to fini**** later..)

6:30 pm 1/4 lb cheese burger on a whole wheat bagel thin with some lettuce and nothing more..

I've been drinking a whole container of ice water during the night. It seems to help the hot flashes that I'm having at night..Right now, I know there is NO way I can do totals on this day. I weighed myself before dinner and I'm at 126.8..Normal weight for me in the mornings is 125.6 or around there..So we'll know how good or bad I did in the morning. I mean one day can't totally kill me. I didn't have any carrot cake or cookies..I actually did pretty good.

So without totals or numbers of any kind,...How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Good evening ladies! I think about you during the day as I struggle with food choices. I know that I'm under a lot of stress at this time, but frankly, life is stress, often, and I need to find ways to handle it that don't involve eating. I read your posts and I feel like I can't get it together. Every day, I'm seeing how much junk I'm eating. Today I noticed that I just don't have things prepared to eat. Then when I feel pushed and hungry, I eat the easiest food around. Things escalate after that. I really need to conquer my addiction to sweets or I fear it will defeat me.

I apologize for 'whining' but it is so embarassing to write down, day after day, the foolish things that I eat. God help me to get past this and preserve the precious gift that has been given me.

Today:
9am cottage cheese and applesauce and dried pinapple
10am protein drink and toast
noon fish and potatoes
1pm protein bar
2pm chocolate
7pm chicken and dumplings
8pm banana bread

today's totals:
calories: 1575
protein: 79 grams

all fluids and vitamins.

Let's see what tomorrow brings. Hopefully a better day and less whining..

HI Leila
Nothing to be embarrassed about in my book!  You are being honest and accountable...not to us but to yourself!  Each day is a new beginning...as long as you 'pick yourself up'...and keep on keeping on..you're a winner ^_^   You made some excellent choices today...you worked on getting the protein in...a great effort on your part!  And if you can't 'whine' here..where ya going to go?>  We're here for you...hang in there...you are doing great!
Hugs

I love knowing that I'm going to come on here and bear all. The good, the bad & the high carb. I was sorta expecting to have a much worse day than I actually had. I'm finding that going back to the very basic idea of keeping either water or decaf tea right beside me is helping. When I'm tempted to eat I've been trying to drink instead and repect the idea that I need to wait 30 minutes before I eat - by the time the half hour has gone by so has the craving.

B: Egg Beater & Chunk of leftover french bread
s: Cajun trail mix
L: 2 hot wings & small (less than 1/2 cup) helping of pasta salad
s: 2 minature cupcakes (Decorated for St. Patty's Day)
D: Peanut Butter & Jelly

I know that if I have carby food early in the day I set myself up to crave it the rest of the day. Honestly I didn't need the chunk of French Bread but it called out to me....ha ha ha...yep I'm blaming the bread. Time to rid the house and office of the foods that do that.

Thanks to the compulsive dog I got in lots and lots and lots of exercise playing ball. When my right arm and shoulder felt like they'd fall off I switched to the left and when that side wore out I had to kick the ball for the dog. He is relentless. It took over an hour and a half before he finally dropped the ball and laid down on it.

I found a beginner yoga app for my phone and that was so much fun yesterday. Of course being outside barefooted was an added treat. Needless to say -----I feel good.

I'm sure I missed early posting where you said what kind of dog you have..but I'm curious LOL  A friend of mine has a Jack Russell...sounds as energetic as yours....will play ball forever...and does not take the words 'enough already'   seriously.    I also agree, if I can just hold out for 15min, that carb craving will pass...remembering the prinicipal of waiting 30 minutes after drinking to eat is GREAT!
Keep up the good job!

Hey Nancy - I've got 2 dogs (well 1 is mine and the other is my granddog). My old man is a nearly 12 year old Black Lab name Gus who has been my companion through absolutely the darkest moments of my entire life. He still loves to swim and fetch but his hips and back just aren't what they used to be. My "Granddog" or my "little man" is not quite 11 months old and he's a Black curly coated retriever. He's wonderful. He has a great disposition and until playing ball last night I'd never heard him bark. I think he was more surprised by it than I was. He is very much a people dog and wants very much to please. His nature would make for an excellent service dog. Of course I don't have the heart to bond with a dog and train them and then part with them. I become too emotionally attached.

Okay now I'm just rambling. Can you tell I love my dogs? Plus I've got 2 pygmy goats (Moe & Curly) that are better watch dogs than the actual dogs. Nosy?!?!?! I never knew goats were that smart. And earlier this week I got 17 baby chicks. All brown egg layers. Not sure what's next for our little farm.

Thanks for asking.
