Accountability - Monday
Busy and iritating day. The weather turned COLD and the wind has been blowing. It's been so cold in the office, I had my jacket on most of the day. I definitely need a vacation and it's coming up on the 19th! I think, if we go out of town, I'll take that week off of keeping track of my intake and see how I do. Things coming up are the time change on Sunday and St Patrick's Day..the traditional corned beef and cabbage day..maybe I can sneak some really good rye bread and have a sandwich!

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I make my own. I use Carbquick (sort of like bisquick but it's very low carb) and Carb Thin Soy Protein Baking Mix...both of these I get on netrition.com...it's not cheap but that is the cheapest place I've found them both. Both products have waffle recipes on the back and it's a conglomeration of these two recipes and one from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com (my favorite WLS Blogger)..
1/2 cup non fat cottage cheese
1/2 cup plain soy milk (vanilla has too much sugar)
2 eggs
1/3 cup CarbQuick
2 scoops CarbThin
alittle water for consistancy
This make 4 waffles in my waffle maker. Each waffle is about 185 calories, 8 grams of carbs and 22 grams of protein. Add some sugar free pancake syrup and maybe some fruit (like an apple sliced up and microwaved or some blueberries microwaved...) and you've got about 285 or 325 calories and still 22 grams of protein..give or take. Carb Thin comes in vanilla and chocolate..the vanilla you can put a splash of DaVinci sugar free syrup in there and make them caramel flavored, strawberry, peanut butter..whatever flavor you have or mix and match cherry and chocolate or toasted marshmallow..For a while I was making pancakes in the same way and freezing them...3 was a HUGE meal..waffles are puffier so I can't eat as much.

Well...I have been trying really hard to get back on track. I have had good days and then I have bads days. Today I decided that I was not going to allow myself ANY processed carbs and try to break the carb cravings. It has been rough but I have made it other than a little bit in my crab cake tonight.
AM-banana and a pack of mixed seeds that I make up for myself
Mid AM-SF Vanilla Latte with NF milk from McDonalds
Lunch-small amount of chopped beef and some okra and an orange
Mid afternoon snack-Fruit smoothie with protein powder and yogurt
Dinner-2 medium Crab Cakes and corn
Snack-banana with 2 T. peanut butter.
I have not added my food to see calories and proteins yet. But I am satisfied with one day anyway.

Good work! Yes, it's hard to limit your carbs and I totally agree with you about cutting them out completely until they have no more hold on you and you can say no and mean it..It's worth doing.
My carb/sugar addiction is a real one and I treat it like a real addiction. I tell people that alcoholics in recovery can't "just have one..one won't hurt." because any alcoholic knows that one WILL hurt..It's hard to be strong but you can do it..
Keep up the good work. See ya.

Thank you for your encouragement. I am really watching your menu so that I can try to get back on track. Where do you order the low card stuff? I put all my foods on daily plate last night and realized I still had ALOT of carbs. Now I realize most of it was fruit but still way too many carbs and not enough protein. I thought I had gained 5 pounds but when I really searched it I realized I have gained a bit more than that. I am really getting scared and have to get a grip on this. Thank you for your post...I will watch them closely and try to stay on track...

www.netrition.com..they have a flat rate for shipping $4.95 so I load up as much as I can. Carbquick is $11.99 a 3 lb box and I believe the CarbThin is $19.96 a tub..

I was hungry all day but managed to keep it under control for the most part anyway.
0730-crustless veggie quiche and oatmeal w splenda
1000-apple, 12 almonds and 2 dried plums
1230-lean cuisine salisbury steak w whipped potatoes, cup of peaches in splenda
1445-1/2 pbj on wheat
1600-animal crackers
1915-hamburger gravy over protein bread
maybe a skinny cow later
all my water and vitamins and a 3 mile run after work before dinner. I am tired and hope to get to bed early.

Today was a bit hard. It seems that the seizures are not really letting up much. I am under a lot of stress just now, but that is life. And they are just to frequent, light, but frequent. I think the meds are in my future..
Today:
8am egg, roll, pudding
9am protein drink
1pm lettuce salad with cheese, pudding
2pm pineapple
6pm quesadilla
8pm vanilla wafers (not many and they weren't even good)
9pm pudding (the pudding is a protein source, but too sweet to take. the recipe must be adjusted)
today's totals:
calories: 1215
protein: 71 grams
(my calorie count looks okay, but my food choices are hard to write down...)
all fluids and vitamins
see ya all tomorrow...
