OK Guys PLEASE Help Me....7 days Out
Hopefully I am not doing anything wrong but I almost feel like I am....
I have NO issues eating 1/4 cup of ANY pureed food, i've had applesauce (which is how I get my vitamins down), soft whipped cottage cheese, pureed chicken etc.
Of course not all at one time it is very spread out and that is NOT all in one day...
I AM loosing...I was 248 before surgery today I am 237 ONE WEEK later
How am I able to get so much down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
you are asking how are you able to get so much food down? Are you eating fast? From what I was told, the average person takes about 20 minutes for their stomach to tell their brain that it is full. With bypass, newly out the nerves have been cut so it may take longer. It's all the same thing though, eat slow and chew slow and you will be full before you finish your food. Did your Dr give you guidelines on how much you should be eating? I was not on pureed foods at a week out so I have no idea. Congrats on the weight loss!

Early out you are still very much "eating for healing."
Even if you have advanced to purees, be sure to measure and not exceed the amount your surgeon has recommended for you. My doctor's materials say, "You may feel like you can eat more. Don't!"
Eat slowly. Problems tend to arise when we eat too fast, eat too much, or eat something we are not ready for.
