Accountability - Tuesday
te..that's the name of the high school I went to..and you know what paraclete means? It's latin (or something) for "come alongside" and it just occured to me that that is EXACTLY what we are doing here. On the regular RNY board I saw a thread about someone who was really low..I mean scraping the bottom of the barrel LOW..and lots of people came in to encourage her..but one post caught my eye. This person knew the doctor and knew the area and told her that she would message her and contact her directly...she was COMING ALONG SIDE...she put her cyber arm around that poor suffering soul and was there to encourage..
If I haven't been encouraging lately, please pardon my lapse..I really want to encourage you all on your journey..in your own path...not a journey that someone else told you to go but you OWN path...my job, and yours too, is to come along side and put a cyber arm around your friend and encourage...doesn't that make a beautiful picture? My eats for today:
5:30 am 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1 whole small apple, 1/3 serving sf pancake syrup 6:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss 7:00 am double espresso with 1/2 cup frothed soy milk 8:45 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat 9:30 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, Crystal Light Hydrating Berry 10:20 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, Crystal Light Energy Strawberry (Caffeinated)
11:20 am 24 oz drink mix with just alittle ice, Hawaiian Punch Orange 12:15 pm chinese food: 1/2 cup beef/broccoli, 1/2 cup orange chicken, 1/2 cup vegetable noodles, 1 egg roll, 1 fortune cookie (I figured because I didn't eat any rice, I could afford a cookie. I already know my totals are gonna be HIGH for carbs today..) 2:00 pm 1 hard boiled egg 3:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix with ice, Wyler's Peach Tea 3:30 pm 1 small grapefruit raw 4:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix with ice, GV Strawberry
6:00 pm 3.5 oz pork chop, broiled, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes, 1/2 T margarine, 1/2 cup canned corn
Totals for the day:
Calories: 1557
Fat: 72.3
Carbs: 130.0
Protein: 106.5
Yeah, carbs were a bit high..and they weren't all good carbs but most of them were.
However you did, keep after it and keep trying..It's an adventure..

I love your story. And you sure did come along side of me.. I have many days when I am glad to know you're out there and that I'll be posting in the evening. I know I have been a bit erratic in my posting the last three weeks or so, but it's just current cir****tances. I am keeping my food log and hangin' on..
I decided today to cut a couple of 'activities' that I currently have going on.. the relief was almost immediate. I feel myself calming down already.
Today:
8am egg, bread, soy breakfast strips
9am protien drink
11am decaf coffee
noon decaf coffee
1pm flatbread and cheese and cookies (2)
2pm more of that coffee (it is sooo good. 'German Chocolate Cake coffee by Gevalia, ummm. with milk and splenda.. yummm)
5pm 1/2 cup of my husbands lentils (he cooks soo hot and spicy. I can't hardly take it anymore, at least not like I used to)
8pm flatbread and cheese
misc. still got the sugar problem. so add 3 cookies
today's totals:
calories: 1195 (this seems awfully low but I added everything in and can't remember anything I forgot..)
protein: 71 grams
lots of fluid (mostly coffee..) and all vitamins

It feels so liberating to circle the wagons sometimes..When you shut out that extra stuff, you feel like you gained a WHOLE day..and there is absolutely no shame in doing that cuz you don't have to be wonderwoman..I often wondered why we always think we have to do it all..guilt? I'm thinking less guilty thoughts since surgery cuz I did this for no one other than myself. I mean that's not to say that everyone around me doesn't benefit from having me around some. LOL.
I love lentils but don't like hot and spicy much..Lentils are SO good for you too. Lots of awesome carbs, plenty of fiber..very good stuff. and a half cup is good enough to get all that stuff. I recently found a sale on dry black beans. I'm going to switch out my hamhocks and beans and chili recipes to use black beans only because they're better for you..more fiber. A little secret? soak them over night in baking soda water and rinse them well the next morning..it takes some of the *gas* out of them..

Cyber arms that is a pleasant mind picture! You are a great cheerleader Dawn, the others chime in as well. I don't a whole lot because I feel I am not an "expert" since I never made goal, but actually am pretty content with myself.
I had an okay day; I think. Had to do some mandatory ed for my second job so that was the first half of my day. I already was off today because I took a few days off because DD is on mid winter break.
0900-breakfast sandwich with top english muffin removed
1045-2 sf chocolate covered caramel cubes-yumm!
1230-slice of thin crust pizza, 4 crackers, grapes and cheese cubes
1400-120 cal pack of teddy grahams
1730-baked chicken, sweet potato and brocoli
1945-fresh strawberries and sf cool whip; surprisingly tasty for this early in the year
I am going to have some kettle corn before bed. I did a short run with DH, it was so cold outside. We are expecting snow tomorrow; which is unusual for our part of Washington at this time of the year. Not enough water but I did get my vitamins in. I had 20 0z water, 20 0z diet sprite( at work) 16 oz hot tea, I think I will have another cup before bed. I did not track yet on Daily Plate.

I think you are an expert, though. I think you're an expert in exercise and keeping moving. I aspire to do that. I need to do that. I have too many excuses NOT to do that..I blame everything! LOL.
Your list looks good. Don't you love those chocolate covered thingies sugar free..anything nsa or sugar free if it's chocolate covered, I'm all over that..Makes it easy to stay *regular* if you know what I mean since it causes a *laxative effect*...
And don't you just thank your lucky stars for the single serving packs of things? Large economy size is the death of me..I'm cheap so it's really hard for me to stay honest on that.

Even if I haven't had any issues with lapses, I feel your pain. That's the point really.. YOU feel and know where you are and there will be tons of others who do too. You can counsel where you are and where you've been. People need your expertise. I appreciate you coming and posting your issues.
I forget which group I heard this in, maybe girl scouts, maybe bible study...somewhere: Helping others helps yourself..something like that. While helping people work through all these issues, I'm getting more help than I ever imagined!
