Accountability - Saturday
Well, I did some shopping today and some banking. One grandson's savings account is over the minimum so that the interest will be accrued..the other grandson's account is closed..Many frantic phone calls and messages regarding the passing of my husband's ex, which will probably take place tomorrow. She's declining fast and may not make it through the night..it's been a really stressful day!
Tomorrow will be a better day. I hope.
What I ate today:
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs, 6 slices of tomato, several cups of coffee
24 oz container of water
24 oz container of water
2 more cups of coffee with NSA Swiss Miss
1.75 oz dry roasted peanuts
1 hard boiled egg
double espresso and soy milk
Dinner: 3.5 oz baked pork chop, 1/2 cup mashed potatoes from dry, 1/2 cup canned corn, 1/2 serving of brown gravy from a packet
I'm not really hungry and it's after 6 pm ... I may or may not have a dessert. I made the chicken stock for my chicken noodle soup for the competition on Wednesday..I've got it in the refrigerator to skim the fat off of it..the morning of I'll cook the veggies and toss in the egg noodles. I also have a crock pot apple pie planned. I'm not sure if I'll cook it the 6 hrs on low or speed it up some..it calls for bisquick but I think I'll use carbquick and splenda for the sugar..it will be low carb, low sugar and no one will know..heheheheha.
Totals for the day:
Calories: 1193
Fat: 67.9
Carbs: 86.1
Protein: 76.1
Not bad. I have plenty of room for a dessert..maybe a baked apple since I must have 15 pounds of them! But then I'm short on water too so..it could be just nice warm tea..
How did you do?

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Sending peaceful thoughts your stepdaughters way!
I had a busy 12 hours at work; I am tired and going to bed soon!
0830-egg casserole from the cafeteria
1030-fresh fruit salad
1230-hamburger pattyw swiss, sweet potato fries; not too many, part of a sf desert not tasty
1800-1/2 burger patty, and a string cheese
1930-nsa root beer float
2030-1 slice delite pizze
no exercise but lots of stairs and walking. All my water missed all my vits.

Ok, so, I'm intrigued: crock pot apple pie? Can you post the recipe for this? I love my crock pot, but have precious few dessert recipes for it. It doesn't have to be "WLS-friendly" as I don't eat sugar-free anything.
And here's my day for yesterday:
Breakfast: 2 big sage breakfast link sausages (seriously, like 4" long and 1" in diameter - BIG), one cinnamon roll that my husband made (he cracked open the refrigerated can from Trader Joe's) and 1 lg. iced coffee with cream & sugar from Dunkin Donuts over the course of the morning while crocheting at my local yarn store.
Lunch - about a cup of cream of potato & bacon soup, 3 packets of whole grain crackers, a bottled iced tea (unsweetened) from the little supermarket near the yarn store.
Dinner - Met my DH for dinner and had half of an order of Caramel Chicken from the Cheesecake Factory, and 2 bites of my cheesecake (Brownie Sundae Cheesecake). I brought the rest home to have later and forgot about it. Duh...
Snack (7 pm) - about a cup of Trader Joe's honey mustard pretzel pieces and a diet pepsi.
Snack - (10 pm) 9 triscuits with about 6 oz cheddar cheese melted on them and the rest of my diet pepsi.
I'm at my lowest weight ever (148), still wearing my size 4 jeans (loosely now), and have perfect labs (well, when they were last checked in September, they were perfect). I'm 4.5 years post-DS now and loving every second of it.

I got the recipe from recipezaar.com..it looks really good even if it's with real sugar and bisquick.
Stress is against me lately. And no matter how much I eat stress makes me lose weight. I started the week at 126 and now I'm 123..I'll be 5 years in July from RNY..also have good labs. although, my D levels could be a bit better. They dipped a tad this last time so I increased them. I'm suppose to retest this month..maybe next month cuz I'm too stressed to deal with it just now.

What are you doing to get the stress out of your life? Lord knows, it's not easy - I have stress out the wazoo (job-related). It's never caused weight loss for me, though. I did massage twice a month last year, which helped a lot. It was expensive, though, and even with my healthcare FSA, I don't think I can afford it this year. Do you have trouble eating when you're stressed? Could you drink more calories - a protein shake or something - to help you keep your weight on?
That apple pie looks pretty good. I have some apples in the kitchen that are yelling at me...

I have no trouble eating when I'm stressed unless it's pretty fatty stuff like sausage. but my calorie levels dont' seem to make much difference to the weight loss..usually by lunch I have in 1000 calories and the rest of the day is 500 to 600 more..sometimes even more than that.
Today is probably the culmination of the stress. two step daughters going to visit their mom today and she's dying..They're taking her off life support today. I'm standing by to field phone calls from hysterical girls..they're adults but it's still painful for me. Possibly going for some outside walking exercise tomorrow..or even later today if we get the chance.
I have apples yelling at me in the kitchen too but the dessert and soup competition is Wednesday. I figure I"ll be up about 5 am that day putting that apple pie concoction in the crock pot..I'm using a combo of granny smith and fuji apples..and carbquick so I can eat it too..that and the splenda.
