Hey all ..

I'm 7 years post-op and have recently had a lot of problems. I was denied for revision to DS because I'm not "fat enough" ... so I've rejoined Jenny Craig. Anyone else experiencing weight gain and doing Jenny Craig or Weigh****chers? JC has forums but I think we are unique because of the WLS ... I'm having a HARD time getting the weight to come off again.

Thanks!

I'm not quite as far out as you...only 10 months...but I did join WW.  I needed an easy way to keep track of what I eat.  So I use the points to keep my "grazing" under control and I track my protein intake.  I was looking for something that I could do long term and WW is a good program (I really like their new points system).

I did Jenny Craig a few years ago (pre-WLS)...and although I had some good success...I found eating frozen dinners got very boring...I like to cook and I missed trying new recipes.

Don't forget to exercise!!  Best of luck in your efforts to get the weight off!

I had a regain over the last year and am now back on track but the weight loss does really seem like it is incredibly slow to come off the second time.  I've been doing everything exactly as my surgeon prescribed - vitamins, calcium, fluids, protein, exercise, 4 meals a day with no grazing, no sugar, high fiber, and virtually no white flour.  I have been stuck at the same weight for a month.  Each morning I step on the scales and feel so frustrated.

I lost 15 pounds in the first week and a half but after getting back on track then the scales stalled completely.  I do feel better that I am in a slightly smaller size of jeans.  I went from 18 women's to 18.  There is actually a huge difference in those two sizes.  I couldn't get  my regular 18s over my thighs a month ago and now they are comfortable to wear.  My 18 women's size jeans are pretty saggy on me.  I should be satisfied with that change but I just can't get comfortable with the scales not moving.

I know that plateaus don't last forever so I just need to keep on track and the scales will eventually move.

I have heard of a lot of people joining weigh****chers after WLS.  I'm not ready to try something like that yet though.  I am tracking every bite that I eat and entering it into the nutrition software here on this web page.  I see that my nutrition is top-notch.  I just wish the scales would see it too.  :(

I'm confident that if I keep doing the right things that the scales will move.  I'm just not exactly patient about the process.

Weight loss surgery has saved my life and I would recommend it to anyone who has the strength to dedicate themselves to the challenging WLS lifestyle.  This is not the "easy way out."  It's the hardest way out.  "Easy" would have been to do nothing.

Hang in there, lots of people get stuck it seems! I'm one of them. I'm trying to stay away from carbs as they are my downfall. Keep at it, you can do it!

Thanks for all of your answers. I thought I needed to stay far far away from carbs too but the nutritionist that works with my surgeon was pretty happy with the JC plan. Carbs are definitely my downfall. I'm just glad I'm not the only one. Seems like you can exercise your butt off and still not see the scale change. SO frustrating!!
