"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."  Henry David Thoreau

Came across this quote in a newsletter I receive monthly.  Struck me what a positive attitude to have ;-)  Thinking back to the beginning of my WLS journey..my anticipation, my goals, my dreams...now almost 2 years post op...most of my goals and dreams have come true...time to think of new ones!

1.  Introducing my youngest granddaughter to FairyTale Town..and going down the slide with her on my lap (she's 15mos).

2.  Walking the Bay to Breakers 6k marathon in May.

Have you made new goals..dreams?  Please share ^_^

Oh to live like my dreams...I'm working toward living like my dreams but I have some challenges. I'll overcome them. I have no worries about that. God is faithful.

My dreams, as they stand right now:

-for my pre-adolescent daughter to like me again...and for her younger sister NOT to dislike me quite so much when the time comes

-Making my business, Pouch Party, a successful thriving resource for post-op bariatric patients

-to use my writing to make a difference in the world (I am already living out this part and so grateful for that!)

-to see my mother overcome her personal demons and become healthy again

-to forgive my father for his past transgressions

-to allow myself to fall in love with someone and to accept that love back

Well, short-term is to weigh under 200 lbs. Long-term/ongoing? To be a good Christian witness and live a life that glorifies the Lord. After that - financial independence, and a trip to Disney World!

1. for my hubby to find a job, I don't care how much he makes, just get back to work. Okay he is wonderful, an artist and sells his work pretty well and he is a master mason. The guy works hard and he does all the cooking and cleaning and has totally remodeled our home while he was on unemployment. My Dream: that he finds a job and is content. Money helps! LOL

2. For my Mennier's to go into remission. For the first time is 9 weeks I'm not dizzy! Whhoooo! To be in perfect health and look forward to going to the gym with excitement!!

3. For my SIL to find a job soon.

4. to save enough money and maybe go on a cruise in 2 years (I love to cruise)

My dreams are....

2. to expand my writing and write for publication
3. for my husband's business to reach a certain target so he can retire healthy and happy
4. to do and be everything that lets my family and friends know how important they are to me

My Dreams - to have superpowers
My Goals -
1. To start exercising regularly
2. To stop noticing all those little flaws (cellulite, wrinkles, raccoon eyes, skinny legs etc.)
3. To start going to church EVERY Sunday
4. To stop getting frustrated with teachers who assign my children hours of homework which they cannot possibly do without my help, which means that the  homework is actually for me.
5. To find a way to sleep each night without Ambien
6. To spend less time on Facebook and more time cleaning my house.

My goals:
1. To find solid motivation for my exercise. I need a goal like being able to go on a hike each month in the mountains, being able to walk a 5k, or something like that to really look forward to.
2. Continue my trend - 4 meals a day measured by means of always eating from a bowl.
3. Continue using my newly-created spread sheet for checking off my vitamins and meds as I take them.
4. Go see my surgeon for a check up!!!!!
5. Be as helpful, gentle, and supportive as possible to my husband without being pushy. He is going to get a lap band in April. I am having a hard time with the balance between support and pushing.

Weight loss surgery has saved my life and I would recommend it to anyone who has the strength to dedicate themselves to the challenging WLS lifestyle.  This is not the "easy way out."  It's the hardest way out.  "Easy" would have been to do nothing.

My dreams are basically how i'm living my life right now. I like to tell people I'm living my happily ever after right now..

My kids are grown and doing well (asside from the drama of late)..

My marriage is as strong or stronger than it's ever been. Tried and tested and came through with flying colors!

My weight is staying stable and I can do all sorts of things I couldn't do before surgery...and continue to find new ways to prove to myself that I'm a different person/albeit the same on the inside..that wild child I was dreaming to be when I was young, I became at 50...wow...

Otherwise, my dreams are of a long and healthy midlife without a crisis..LOL..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
