Accountability - Monday

Not the Same Dawn
on 2/7/11 10:10 am - BEE EFF EEE, CA

Just not all that enthusiastic about today..maybe it's Monday! But the good thing is, I get Friday off..and that will always make me happy!

5:30 am 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1/2 large green apple, 1/3 serving sf pancake syrup

6:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss (and some vitamins)

6:45 am double espresso with 1/2 cup plain soy milk frothed (plain soy milk has less fat and less sugar so that's why I use plain and not vanilla)

7:00 am 24 oz herb tea, Lipton Vanilla Caramel

8:15 am 1 oz cheddar, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat

8:50 am 24 oz drink mix with ice, Hawaiian Punch Orange

9:45 am 1 medium raw orange

11:15 am 4 reduced fat wheat thins, 1/2 Tablespoon spray cheese..(oops! My bad, not enough good stuff in my lunch bag...bad Dawn).

12:00 pm 12 oz decaf with half n half (I suspect this isn't half n half but non-fat milk!)

12:40 pm 4 oz chicken thigh meat, 1 sandwich thin, 1 pc processed american cheese

2:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix with Ice, Morning Spark Orange Caffeinated

3:30 pm 1 hard boiled egg

4:00 pm 12 reduced fat wheat thins and 1-1/2 Tablespoon spray cheese (here comes that slip up to haunt me again..I can recover it later, I think!)

4:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, with ice, GV Strawberry

6:00 pm and for dinner: spaghetti! Guessing on the sauce my dear hubby made with meat balls: 4 oz extra lean ground beef, 2/3 cup meatless sauce and 1 cup cooked cabbage. You know, I like this better than low carb spaghetti noodles cuz I can actually eat it. a half cup of spaghetti noodles and I'm so full I hurt..this was easy enough to eat and not at all painful!

totals for the day:
Calories: 1663
Fat: 79.0
Carb: 130.7
Protein: 119.2

I could maybe have a dessert but that would put me pretty near 2000 calories..that would be  the temptation factor since dinner was so darn easy to eat..If I can manage it, I'll just have tea..If not, it will be 100 calories kettle corn popcorn..which will add 100 calories and a bunch more carbs.

How did you do?

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

Hello everyone. First, I have to confess that I am soooo jealous of Mary's exercise!!! 2 hrs?? Running and Zumba??? All that I can claim is that I go up and down the stairs..sometimes a little slow, but I go. And what can I say about my constant sugar problem when Dawn is calling herself bad for 4 crackers and 1/2 tablespoon of spray cheese.. I'm just glad that you ladies put up with me, cause I don't want to think about leaving this post.

today:
9am beef stew
10am protein drink and a brownie (oh nice way to start the day...)
11am dried pinapple
1pm 100 calorie snack (till I could get back home, then..)beef stew
2pm peanuts
3pm decaf coffee
7pm a wee bit more brownie...
9pm 2 oz. cheese

Today's totals:
calories: 1505
protein: 77 grams

not quite enough fluids and all vitamins.

I still get into the pattern of stress and fatigue from too many chores to be done and instead of stopping and leaving things for another day, I just feel that I must complete it and it always seems like if I just eat, I'll have more strength to keep going.

Now you know that I have daily evidence of how much more strength and energy I have since I am eating LESS and the improvement to my overall health is immeasurable, so you would think that the overwhelming evidence that eating less is better for you would have made a bigger impression on days like these.....

I am reminded of scenes from the old western movies where the cattle are running and stampeding out of control and the cowboys are riding like crazy men and shooting their guns to turn the herd from crushing the settlers... Well, folks, it takes time to turn the herd and they move in a slow arch... God give me the strength to turn my herd...(Wow, I almost started talking about the "cattle drive" that is my new life and then I realized that this was WAY TOO MUCH TALK ABOUT COWS....) Who started all this talky talky by "falling overboard"???? ...Nancy...(you little dickens..)

hope everyone has a good cow, I mean day, tomorrow!

Don't be jealous of me! I am jealous of all of you at goal or much closer than me! I have never lost this last 20; but I keep trying, but not hard enough obviously!
The exercise is my "me time" I would be nuts without it!

sorry Leila....one of the other forums I post on has a 'sailing ship' for accountability...I was lazy and just copy/paste what I wrote there....'confessing' twice was bad enough...actually typing it was more than I could stand LOL  And don't you dare! leave this post!!!  The honesty shown on this forum is so refreshing...and we all need it if we expect to succeed with our tool ;-)  I'l love to try Zumba..but I'd fall flat on my face...the co-ordination needed is just beyond my capabilities.  Move my arms and legs at the same time..in different directions....oh yeah...that isn't gonna happen with this body LOL

All that matters is that you TRY to eat healthier and wizer...each day is a new beginning and a brand new opportunity.  We all have our weaknesses...our job is to be aware of when we cave, what was going on when we did...and how did we feel....and then to formulate a plan for the next time so maybe, just maybe, we'll be a little stronger for a little longer until the 'urge' passes ^_^  You are doing great!
Hugs

Short work week; gotta love that! I have used spaghetti squash, brocoli  and cauliflower but not cabbage. I will have to try that! Cabbage should be on sale soon for St.Patricks day, otherwise it is expensive up here.
0830-boiled egg, 1 veggie sausage, oatmeal w splenda
1030-apple, mini Milky Way
1230-5 tortilla chips, lettuce, chicken, sprinkle of cheese, salsa, sour cream
1430-cottage cheese fruit cup, 1/3 bagel w cream cheese
1800-meatloaf, sweet potato,brocoli
2030-sf angel food, strawberries and dollop of cool whip
No exercise; my kness are sore from yesterday! All my water and such. Teaching an all day class tomorrow off site so eating will be tricky. I don't know if there is a fridge or microwave available. I will take a protein drink, apple and string cheese but will have to get lunch out.

I'm happy to see you back! Missed ya!

Husbands and bfs, not always a reliable source of inforamtion! We love 'em, but we can't always believe 'em...

We have snow in Missouri, too. Unlike you, I have NO intention of shoveling. At 62, I am content to sit in the house and look at it...

well, have a good day
your OH friend
