Accountability - Thursday
This morning my arm hurt. I'm whiney cuz I know what it is now...If I didn't know it was broken, I'd just tough it out but it's all about that mental thing! darn it.
5:30 am 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1/2 microwaved apple, 1/3 serving sf pancake syrup (starting to wonder if baked apple is the right designation for this..seems the calories are too high on fitday for a baked apple rather than a raw one...hmmm)
6:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:30 am double espresso with 1/2 cup plain soy milk frothed with splenda
7:00 am 24 oz Lipton Herb Tea, Passion Fruit and Strawberry..I'm not liking the little triangle tea bags they made for this stuff. half the time the string falls off..
I think I was cranky today! Okay, I'm sure of it.
9:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
9:30 am 1 oz cheddar cheese, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat
10:30 am 24 oz Drink Mix with ice, Wyler's Peach Tea
12:00 am 12 oz decaf w/half n half
12:45 am 3 oz turkey breast meat, some gravy (about 1/4 oz dry) and 1/2 cup mashed potato from instant (this was surprisingly filling for me..I started to feel better right about here)
1:30 pm 24 oz Drink mix with ice, GV Strawberry
3:15 pm 1 hard boiled egg
3:45 pm 24 oz Drink mix with ice, Power Edge, Wild Berry Caffeinated
6:00 pm 3.5 oz T-bone steak (the best part, cuz my dear hubby spoils me!), 1 small baked yam, 1/3 cup canned corn
Totals for the day:
Calories: 1093
Fat: 37.8
Carbs: 91.8
Protein: 104.5
Seriously I could use more calories and protein...what to have? what to have? Well, I'm sure I have plenty of latitude for whatever I decide to have.
How did you do?

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I just recently got back on OH. Now, I tried the WW graduates board. You are doing much better than me. I am a year out and am doing horrible.
Breakfast: Cinnamon Rasion bagel w/2-4 tbs of pb.
Lunch: Albacore Tuna Salad kit. (w/mayo, relish, and crackers)
Dinner: 2 pcs of Works Pizza from Papa Johns.
Couple of snack candy bars.
Lets just throw in the worst part, since I am trying to be accountable .....a pot of coffee full caff, w/sugar and French Vanilla creamer.
Since getting back on, I am doing better than I was, being that I am now taking my vitamins and calcium like I should. Now, I need to fix the rest.
Scott

Going to support group is a great idea, Scott. I know mine was priceless in giving guidence and advice when I hit stumbling blocks or didn't understand what was going on. Plus, the friendships I have derived from these wonderful people, well, you just can't put a pricetag on them ;-) With your attitude, I just know you will turn things around and get to be where you want to be...it's all about choices and a 'can-do' attitude.

Naughty naughty! Vitamins shouldn't be negotiable! LOL..I know what you mean but do try to get them in. they really are important for your health and if you don't get them the damage can be irreverible.
Your list looks great..you did good. sloppy joes..yum. and when you make it home made you know the quality of the meat that's in it..heck, it can be turkey or chicken too..great idea. I may have to steal that one!
I have been watching and getting emails from Hungry Girl on the cooking channel..she has a frappaccino that I'm gonna try making when the weather gets warmer...from sugar free jello pudding..yum..
choco cupcakes..I found Pillsbury sugar free cake mix at Vons here some time back and it makes the most amazing cupcakes! Hungry Girl makes it with a can of pumpkin (instead of eggs, oil, water). and it's suppose to be really good to..I'm gonna try that too..real soon.
Keep up the good work. See ya.

Well, you have plenty to work with here!..vitamins are a great start..Now we need to work from the bottom up..Start with the coffee..You can find sugar free stuff to put in that that's much better than what you're having..caffeine isn't a problem but don't count it as your water. And I say it's not a problem but if you get pains in your stomach from it...it's gotta go..Anything that doesn't work for your pouch, doesn't work for you..
Start with breakfast..and protein it up..peanut butter is good but the bagel flat isn't..LOL..Do you have protein powder around? Most people like a protein shake in the mornings..I don't but I cook with it. I put protein in my waffles in the morning..
At each snack and meat, make sure protein is the most prominent..protein first. Also, keep good track of your water and drink after a half hour after you eat..that way your pouch stays full longer and you don't feel as hungry.
Lastly...move. just move more. Walk as much as you can..
It's awesome that you're here and awesome that you're starting back on the trail..Good Job..we can always use more cheerleaders..

Great response. Thank you. I have been thinking since coming back that going sugar free with the coffee would be a good idea or at least a start. Just have to do it. Caffiene doesn't cause pouch pains, but I am not getting in my water. That is something I have to start again. Cause at night I typically drin****d decaff tea and 1 root beer. Again, more liquid changes need to be made.
I agree that the bagel isn't a great idea. I need to do something different. It is just hard for mornings as I have 3 6-year old girls that I have to wake up and get ready for school. Then I leave for work. I typically do not eat breakfast until I get to work. Bagel and PB is quick and easy. If you have other suggestions for a quick high protein meal, let me know. I used to use Nectar Capaccino protein powder with milk in the mornings. It was really good, but very little caffiene to get me going and the milk constipated me. I tried it with water and that didn't tast very good. I guess I could try to weaken it down a bit.
I do try to keep protein first, but as a lot of people are, I get seduced by the aroma of junk food.
Question: How much protein / water per day is recommended? Can't remember.
Thanks again,
Scott H.

Hi Tripple Dad,
My NUT recommends 60-80 grams of protein and minimum 64 oz water OR SF noncaffeinated, noncarbonated clear liquids (broth, tea, coffe, crystal light, etc)
Have you tried Muscle Milk Light? It's lactose free and has 20 gms of protein.
I too need the caffeine in the a.m., so Chai tea (or any kind of tea) gives me a boost with half the caffeine. Also, you could make coffee with equal parts of caffeinated and decafeinated grounds for half the caffeine than regular coffee.
