Protien Waffle Recipe?
Not the same Dawn, would you post your recipe? I don't post much but I read the accountability threads to get ideas for "good" things to eat. I see them almost every day and would like to try them. Also, I am following a low carb eating plan - do you happen to know the carb and fiber counts in them?
Jan
Yup.
The following makes four waffles:
2 eggs
1/2 cup cottage cheese (I use non-fat)
1/2 cup plain soy milk (less fat, far less sugar)
1/3 cup CarbQuick Biscuit Mix (I get it from netrition.com)
2 scoops Carb Thin Soy Protein baking mix (this stuff also from netrition is amazing. More protein than carbs and you can use it as a shake mix but I preferit this way!)
2 Tablespoons ground flax seeds (this is just good for ya so I added it in).
Totals for a quarter of this are:
Calories: 185
Fat: 8.3
Carbs: 8.2
Protein: 22.4
So with that as a base, you can add apple (again, healthy for ya) and some sugar free pancake syrup. Mine isn't too much on the calories cuz a serving of a 1/4 cup is about 35 calories..I just don't like it sopping wet so I don't add much syrup..The apple gets microwaved about a minute to a minute and a half before I put it on the waffle..and because I make the waffles ahead of time, I put one in the toaster...quick, easy, protein filled breakfast..yum. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
