new to this forum-10 yrs out RNY
Im trying this forum out. Not sure about it all to be honest. I am 10 years out. Lost 160 lbs, regained 40 lbs, lost 20 lbs in the last 6 months. Goal is to lose 10 more pounds in the next 6 months.
Whats working for me: myfitnesspal.com to track my food and exercise DAILY. Support from my daughter who is losing weight successfully without GBS. The 30 day program from nawls.com visualizing my next goal (Im a size 12, working towards size 10) and NOT GIVING UP. I believe if I dont track my calories & exercise in this LIFESTYLE CHANGE, Im not going to lose.
What Im looking for: support for a long timer in a free message forum. Im hoping this might be the one. Does anyone else out there hear me? In other words, weight loss tools and support after regain. Seriously, I dont understand people whose mentality is: Im eating fast food and cant figure out why I cant lose? Am I in the right place here?

We're here..I'll be 5 years out in July. Not nearly as far out as you are but you're doing awesome! 10 pounds in the grand scheme of things isn't much but you're headed in the right direction and you don't expect to lose it all in one weekend either..good job..
We do our accountability each day, there are three or four people who are regulars, like myself and some who pop in from time to time. We learn from eachother and post everything we eat for all to see. We post our struggles and such..we're only human so we still have struggles. None of us believe this was the easy way out..
I was a size 26 and now a size 6 and have been there for some time (nearly 4 years now)..
Good journey to you..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Usually I recommend starting where you are..find a place to journal your intake like fitday or dailyplate and see where you stand. What ARE you eating and then look at the list and see if there's a spot you can work on...like white carbs or sugar..and then move more..walk further to the store or get out and walk the dog..
You can do this..it's totally within your reach.. You just have to reach for it.

I did! Yesterday I started with a modified "pouch test" I did mostly protein shakes, with the exception of 2-3 oz of chicken for dinner. I track in myftnesspal. I KNOW I'm a CARB-O-HOLIC! today is another new day right? I WILL continue with protein/vitamins, cardio at the gym and check in here daily. You are motivating, THANK YOU!
wow Bravo that is awesome, I love reading post that say they are 5 or more years out, it give me motivation to continue on. Only gaining 40 pounds is good after 10 years and you are working to get it off, Bravo to you. I am 6 months out and it does my heart good to see someone changing and working on themselves. Continue on Dana you are in the right place.
