Wow..I would have thought my carbs would be higher..The calories for the ceasar salad seems to be too high actually but it very well could be correct..Still, all in all, I did alright. I could stand to eat a microwaved apple alittle later too and that will bring my carbs up too..
How did you do?
Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130
1100-1/2 lc chicken ceasar wrap
1300-other half
1530-steak, mashed taters and a few carrots
2030-few oz chicken, 1/4 c rice, salad and bread with butter
throughout the day i had a few pieces of Christmas candy and a serving of rf wheat thins. Not enough water and no exercise.
I saw my pcp today about my bone scan results; he has started me on Fosamax. The lumbar spine is the worst almost a minus three. Take your calcium ladies. My scan two years ago showed early thinning but it has really decompensated now. I admit I have not been very consistent with my calcium. I will be from now on;yikes!
Mary
It's not just you! Thanks for the reminder..
Keep up the good work..See ya.

Mary, I am so sorry to hear about your back! I am taking 500 mg calcium citrate chew daily. Do you think this is okay?? Should I really up to amount??
today:
11am cottage and applesauce (1/2 cup each)
noon ginger tea and dried pinapple
2pm soy chips (one serving) and ginger tea
3pm another dried pinapple
4pm protein drink
5pm veggie and fish and rice stir fry thing that I made
6-8pm cookies...3 of them.. (the dried pinapple didn't hold me)
8:30pm baked corn casserole (1/2 cup)(another turkey dinner here tomorrow, but this time I did the sweet potatoes with splenda brown sugar that Dawn suggested.)
10 pm one more cookie and 1/2 cup pistachios
today's totals:
calories: 1430 (I think, maybe more for the stir fry than I figured, but I tried to go light on the rice part.)
protein: 63 grams
enough fluids and all vitamins
hope everyone has a good day tomorrow
It really depends on your lab work and if your levels are falling or what. I generally don't wait till the levels are in danger area. I had my first bone scan for osteoperosis last year and will probably get another this next year. They use that to see if you're losing bone mass..a zero is good and Mary's negative 3 is not good at ALL..that's why her pcp put her on fosamax (a bone density med)..It's important for women over 40 to watch bone mass cuz if your bone mass is bad and you have even just a bump, bones will break..I'm over 50 now so I guess that stuff is in my future..
I take 1000 mcg of calcium citrate or more a day (sometimes 1500) and 500 mcg D3 (which is really low but we'll see what the tests show in Februrary again) and magnesium and zinc along with that D..In the desert, I thought I got enough sunshine for the D but we'll see..I may be taking the 5000 mcg that is recommended for us RNY patients.
Let me know how you liked the sweet potatoes with splenda..I liked it, and actually it was so sweet everyone else loved it too!
