need to get a grip!
Here’s the deal. I’m stuck in a bad loop. I know the only way out is cold turkey. I just can’t seem to get it done. I’ve regained 20 lbs and now have a ‘roll’ again. I’ve been living on candy and popcorn. I'm eating way too much of both of them.
I eat breakfast – usually oatmeal. Some times I eat a good lunch. But after that the day is usually shot. I just don’t want anything other than candy and/or popcorn.
I don’t like to cook in the first place. I am sick of chicken, sick of tuna, don’t eat beef and fish is ok sometimes. Can’t choke down another protein drink. Tired of lettuce too.
I thought pre-package dinners might work but no. They all have pasta or rice. I don’t eat either one of them and don’t want to start.
Mentally and physically I feel like crap. I have no energy and am probably depressed. I just don’t know what to do or how to do it at this point.
Oh yeah - had RNY 2003, 256lbs down to 156lbs.
I've never been an exerciser - tried many different things but it just isn't my thing. I know...shooting myself in the foot by not exercising. *sigh*
Some ways to change up a salad are to take the lettuce out and put in cucumber and tomatoes..and zesty italian dressing or ceasar dressing..
I bake a chicken breast (whole) on the weekend and then tear it up and put it in zippy bags, 4 oz servings and freeze it. So during the week, whatever my brain comes up with I can toss that in my lunch bag. Today I'm doing lettuce/spinach/tomato with zesty italian dressing but when cucumbers were cheap, I chopped up a whole cucumber/tomato/thousand island dressing and when lunch came, the chicken was thawed and I tossed that in..when I'm really bored of salad, I take the chicken (or pork or beef) and mix with dressing and put it (with a slice of cheese) on a Sara Lee Sandwich thin..for some reason, that's not causing a carb crash..
I made my own frozen burritos a while back. Lean burger (1/2 cup), 1/2 oz cheddar cheese and 1/4 cup non-fat refried beans inside a whole wheat tortilla, wrapped up and frozen in a snack bag and frozen..ready and waiting when the feeling strikes!
Fish is the same way..when we cook fish for dinner, I keep back some cooked and do the same thing..either on a bed of greens or veggies or on a sandwich thin..ooo. and fried fish tacos on a medium corn tortilla with cole slaw? heaven..I'm makin myself hungry! We buy tilapia fillets for our fi****'s really good and occasionally pretty cheap too.

I make Protein waffles in the morning cuz for me, oatmeal is a carb magnet. I can't add enough protein even though I put protein powder and textured vegetable protein too...For me, it's eggs or nuthin without the waffles..
As for the low energy, are you current on your labs? Low iron, low B-12?
