I'm 6 1/2 years post op. My surgeon always called me his poster child. I went from over 300 pounds down to 135 wearing a size 4. I had a baby at 2 years post op and was back in my size 4's within a month. I maintained nicely with only 2 or 3 pounds of fluctioation for 5 1/2 years. Then a year ago I quit smoking for good (I had quit while pregnant but always managed to start again) I gained about 30 pounds. No matter what I have tried it won't budge. I work out 3 times a week. I watch what I eat. This weight is stuck. So I had a few friends have great luck with the HCG diet with injections. I started it today hoping to jump start things and reset back at 135.

I was wondering if anyone here has tried this diet? How did it go for you? Weight is such a slippery slpe this weight I put on is making me crazy. It needs to go. I reffuse to accept a little gain because soon it could be a little more and a little more. Anyway thought I'd see if anyone here has tried it.

Why not just eat 500 calories a day (the hCG diet recommendation) and skip the injections?  Do that for 40 days coupled with excercise and I'm 99.9% positive you will lose weight.

Current controlled studies have shown no difference between those following the hCG diet with injections and those receiving a placebo.

It seems to me, the key is to eat less and excercise more.

Hi there.   How did HCG work for you?    I am on day 11 of using HCG injections under an MD's supervision.    I am amazed at how well my hunger is controlled.    I am needing to take off 25 lbs that have crept back on.  (i am almost 7 yrs postop)

My MD has made it clear that the 3 weeks following the injection phase is very important.
