I havent check in here in AGES
I had my WLS in 2005, and I also have grazed my self back up 50 pounds or more. I have been trying to get control of my eating but the old habits creep back up and no weight loss has happen. It is so easy to fall back in those old habits. I loss my health insurance so I have been unable to get my levels checked. I have a lot of leg acheness and am sure I am deficient in my vitamins as well. I often wonder how all those out a long time like us are doing, if they have regained a lot of there weight back. In gereral how there health is to.
I need to cut out everything to start loosing again, I met up with a friend yesterday who has been out 5 years an only regained 18 pounds and that is it, she is doing good, her blood levels are good, I dont even know what mine are since I lost my job and insurance. I bought some vitimans and have started taking those again. So I am slowly getting back on track. My friend says it is a struggle each and every day to stay on track. It is so hard for me cause of the cost of everything. I am on a limited budget for my family. I never thought twice about the cost of all the foods I bought for my WLS when I was working but now it is a different story. Looking forward to hearing from you. Yvonne
Hi!!
I'm trying to get back on track also. Have gained 20lbs and feel awful about it. I want back to 135lbs & feel grat again.
I also have been grazing, eating the wrong foods ( I'm a sweet craver & emotional eater), and not excercising.
So lets cheer each other on and get ourselves back where we were the happiest, healthiest.
We can do it!! Just one day at a time, one hr or whatever it takes.
Take care,
Kattin
Me too.
My highest weight before surgery was 388. I got down to 208 after major plastic surgery in 08/2007. I slowly started to gain back when learning to date again and with my Mom being in an assisted living beginning 08/2006. My Mom had a second stroke in 08/2009 and then went into a nursing home in 11/2009. My Mom passed away 08/08/2010.
All this time seeing a good therapist. The biggest problem I have now is beating myself up over gaining weight. I feel embarrassed so I overeat as Im emotionally addicted to food. Besides the other usual reasons.
Im now 263. I started doing My Plate on www.livestrong.com the Monday after Thanksgiving.
It really helps me keep track better. I like that its not just about calories, it shows other nutrition amounts. I also like the fitness feature. And it has some other good things. Which is how ended back here. I read someones post about after gastric bypass surgery and I saw it was Obesity Help's website.
Coming back here helps to remind me of some of the things we are suppose to do when eating so that our tool will help us lose weight.
