I can relate to you all.  I am 19yrs out with VBG and after losing 90lbs in the first 5mths, I kept it off for over 10yrs.  Slowly it started creeping back and I was shocked 3yrs ago to see I had put back on 60lbs.  But I wasn't shocked enough.  I got into action at the time and lost 30lbs, but life got in the way and I put 38 more lbs back on.

This time I had to get real and did the 5-day pouch test.  I am now down 31lbs and just hit below 200 at 199lbs today.  I work out 5 days a week with 1hr cardio & alternate days with strength/weight training.  This is helping me to not only be fit, but keep myself accountable and monitor what's happening with my body.  I'm back to eating like the 1st yr of surgery so I feel better and with small goals, in time will get extra weight back off!

Good luck to you all and know you're not alone.  We can do this, we've lost before and just need to get back on track!

What is the 5 day pouch test?  I am 9 years out keep 80 of the 100 pounds I lost off for about
7 years last 2 years I have managed to snack on about another 20 which puts me at the 50
pounds lost level.  I know I have to stop the eating in between meals and get back to the protein drinks and water just hard to get motivated again.  Thanks for your post it inspires.  Kathy

The pouch test is to relearn how to use our pouch as a tool.  Get us back on track after getting into old habits, grazing, and eating "slider" easy foods to avoid uncomfortable sensations.

Follow this link and you can learn all about it!  I'm so glad I did this, and am steadily losing again.  Another 1/2 lb today!!  5daypouchtest.com/

Best of luck! ~Our journey never ends!

Well Welcome back.  I am out 6 years and grazzed myself back 56 pounds.  So we should start a group.  Alot of people who posted to you are in the same group.  I would love to be able to talk to you guys on a daily basis.

I'm also gaining weight (25 lbs) and not a happy camper with myself. I find my self grazing, not excercising as I should. Have been doing vit. regium, and labs show I'm too high in VitD, low in iron. So adjusted them. Also took myself off Cymbalta due to weight gain. I was on it for my Fibromyalgia. So now we'll get back on track, and hopefullyget weight off.
I'd like to see us do a group for us weight gainers. I know we feel like we're failures for gaining, but I've learned thru tragedy's in my life, that life is bowl of cherries and we can overcome things dealt to us. We worked hard for weight loss and our outlook on ourselves improved.
So lets cheer each other on, account for ourselves to others here. Hopefully the peer group will give us incentive to keep going and if we fall at times than someone will pick us up & put us back on track.
WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!

Add me to the list of gainers. I was once over 300 pounds. I lost over 150 pounds and got down to a size 4. I maintained even through having a baby. I'm now 6 1/2 years out and up 30 pounds from where I want to be. I quit smoking and started grazing and the weight came on quick. I hav been trying to get it off without luck. Today I started the HCG diet with injections in hopes that will help me reset like surgery did. Its such a slippery slope I want to catch it before its worse than 30 pounds.

I can relate. Never lost to where I wanted to be... but started to climb back up. Am now working on the head instead of the body to figure out why I do this.
