Over 7 years out and starting over
Hello Everyone
It has been WAY too long. I have decided to come back and post and read on a daily basis so that I can get back into the right mindset. It is so easy to forget where you were once at. I started at out at 240 (which was once considered a light weight) and I got down to 140 in approx. one year. I never set a "goal" weight and didnt obsess like a lot of people did over the scale and food issues. Honestly the first year went by so fast and the weight just rolled off...It was so MAGICAL!!!! The real work came into play at about a year and a half out when I slowly noticed that I could eat more than I previously could...little by little I would take tiny bites and then tiny bites got to be bigger bites etc etc...time passed and before I knew it I was up around 25 pounds...I really thought that I would NEVER gain weight back because I was so sure that I would always be careful and that I had learned all my lessons about overeating..I finally got to the point where I was feeling so bloated and disgusting and didnt want to continue the path I was on because I dont want to be considered a failure..I am back on track and hope and pray to stay strong during the holidays..This is really a life long battle and you never really get to a place where you can relax.
I have so much going on in my head and so much that I want to share but I will save it for another post on another day
It is good to be back
Peace to all
Stacey

Hi. I would like to start doing the same thing! I have also been gaining weight. I have to get back into the old "good" habits that helped me drop the pounds! Thanks for the motivation.
current BMI: 24.7 107 pounds lost
12 pounds lost on pre-diet
40.7: starting BMI
***4 pounds to goal!(149) **next goal will be 147. highest weight 260 current weight: 153
Welcome back. I lost 150 lbs and have gained 90 back and there is a great back on track program on the site just daily to get reminders of the things we know we need to do everyday ni our lives to be successful. Not always easy but great support from the boards.
I actually had started with WW to start tracking and measuring and weighing things again and they are changing their program to give protein values lower points and carb values higher points to get people to make better choices. I hope that the new program will really get me back on the right track and have weight dropping again.

I am in the same boat. I have gained back about 80 lbs and trying to start the fight to get it back off. I started WW again too. The weekly meetings help me. I need to be writing everything down too. Its tough for me to be at home with a toddler who snacks all day and stick with the plan. Any ideas?
Hi Stacey,
i was stunned when i read your post today as that's exactly why i 'tuned' back in. I'm also 7 years out and am pushing the 200lbs mark again, that i said i absolutely never would. I was looking to see if anyone has ever had the surgery twice or is anyone has had RNY then a banding. I know that sounds like a cop-out but I dieted for many years before the surgery and nothing ever worked (presurgery weight was 320) so now i'm not inclined to spend a lot of money on programs or systems but to go directly to surgery again.
thoughts?
Feeling like a failure
I just came back onto the website myself today, I'm sorry and glad at the sametime to see others in the same boat as myself. I am 4 years out and have gained back 30 pounds and want to put a stop to it before I'm back to where I started.
I fully agree with Stacey when she said that the 1st year was the "easy" part. I also said to myself that 1st year, "how could you ever gain weight with this surgery"; well now I know. It will be nice to have fellow "losers" to turn to and lean on at this new fork in the road.

I'm also 7 years out and trying to get back on track. I am setting small goal as I go and it seem to help me keep going. I will be happy when I see onederland again. Not so easy as the first year after RNY.

I am 6 years out and had at one point last year regained 25 pounds and two pant sizes....I kick myself daily, but then currently again I'm only wear a size 10 pants. I can eat anything and everything, find myself grazing instead of eating meals....the things that got me in trouble in the first place. Going through menopause so I know that things will be more of a challenge as my metabolism slows even further. I did WW for 5 months last year....dropped 17 pounds and have put 10 back on now because I stopped going. I live in a small community so I'm finding it hard to go back even though I KNOW it is what I really need to do. I know what I need to do, but like a little kid throw (inside) a temper tantrum about having to comply and fix it myself...Gotta get my head on straight, don't I...Dang it all!
